1 Journals/Publications \Related Regulations Guidelines Contribution Regulation to English Journal Established on Apr. 30, 1999 Amended on Mar. 28, 2003 Amended on Oct. 28, 2005 Amended on Feb. 23, 2007 Amended on Feb. 12, 2009 Amended on Dec. 22, 2011 Optical Society Korea Article 1 (Purpose) This regulation intends to specify contribution of literatures to be published on the Journal of the Optical Society of Korea published by the Optical Society of Korea (hereinafter referred to as the Society ). Article 2 (Content of Manuscript and Decision of Publication) Journal of the Optical Society of Korea allows publishing of the research results covering the whole areas of optics, the contents of manuscripts shall be those results which were not published or requested to be published on the other science journal, and publication of the literature shall be decided by the editing committee of science journal. Article 3 (Kinds of Literatures) 1 Literatures shall be classified into research literature, short literature, invited literature and description. 2 The invited literature and description shall be accepted by the chairman of the editing committee upon decision of the editing committee or by the contributor upon the editing committee after discussing with the chairman of the editing committee. Article 4 (Style and Form) 1 Every manuscript shall be prepared using forms in MS Word.

2 2 Every manuscript to be contributed to the journal shall be prepared in English. 3 The literature shall written in sequence of title, name of author, assigned organization and address, abstract, keywords, OCIS codes, body, appendix, acknowledge, references, table description, table, figure (photo) description, figure (photo). 4 Keywords are allowed up to 5. 5 OCIS codes are allowed up to 5. Article 5 (Expression of References) Expressions shall be those which can be verified objectively, expressed within the body as like [1,2] [3-6] and aggregated on the end of the body as follows: Periodicals 1. Article 6 (Expression of Figure and Table) 1 Figure and table shall be designated their locations within the body with sequential number.

4 2 Since maximum width of figure shall be 85 mm and any larger one will be reduced, it is required to be careful of size of letters and symbols. 3 Photo shall be based on black and white and limited to same size as figure. In case of requiring color photo, the author shall bear additional cost. 4 When reprinting figure or photo of which copyright is owned by the third party, the author shall get written approval from the owner and express it properly. Article 7 (Numerical Formula and Unit) 1 Numerical formula shall be correctly expressed in computerized or transcribed form. 2 Figure is not be allowed for transcription. 3 Unit and its expression shall follow international practice. Article 8 (List of Authors name and Affiliation) 1 All authors will be listed up in accordance with the contribution degree of each author. 2 If authors have different affiliations, position each affiliation on a separate line and use different superscript figures which is also noted in authors name. 3A corresponding author should be noted by using a superscript ( * ) in the name and an address for a corresponding authros is given on a separate line. Article 9 (Contribution Method) Contribution of literature shall be based on electronic contribution through homepage. Article 10 (Examination of Literature) Contributed literature shall be examined pursuant to Literature Examination Rules of the Society. Article 11 (Correction)

5 1 Initial correction shall be undertaken by the author in principle. 2 During correction the author shall not change the content of the body. If the author wants to change the content, it is required to get approval from the editing committee. Article 12 (Publication Fee) 1The author shall pay the publication fee specified by the Society for the published literature. The author may request separately printed volume and shall near its cost. 2The publication fee for the express publication is 200% of the normal publication fee. 3 Each reviewer of the manuscript asking for the express publication should submit the decision to the editing committee within one week and will receive the express reviewer fee specified by the Society. 4The publication fee should be paid in advance by authors and no refund will be given although the manuscript is rejected for publication. Article 13 (Copyright) The representative author shall donate the copyright to the Society upon designated form.
