5 2013 Summer Activity 2 Try one of the following ideas to complete a fun and interesting summer reading activity based upon one of the books that you have read. Fun and Interesting Activities Book Report in a Bag, An Envelope or a Cereal Box Interview a Character Design a Movie Poster Create a Cast List for the Movie/TV Show Designer Challenge Description Select a container. Decorate the container to convey some of the major details, elements, or themes in the book. Inside the container include the following: 1. Questions: Write ten questions based upon the book. 2. Vocabulary: Create a ten-word glossary of unfamiliar words from the book 3. Give examples of similes, metaphors or personification used in the book Compose eight to ten questions to ask a main character in the book. Provide the character s response to each question. Remember your questions should provide information that shows you have read the book. Check out some of the poster on display at a local movie theater. Create one for your novel to encourage someone to attend. After selecting the actors/actresses that you would have play each of the characters, write a recommendation to the director that justifies each Design a room that a character from the book would have. Include an explanation why you have chosen each item and how it relates to the character. 5
