Most of my experience with his books so far have been board books, and this is not a board book, but more like a picture book, but the content would work well again as a board book. This is a list about things to be thankful for and would go great with an interactive thankgiving theme, but it is not overly for the fall/autumn/winter/holiday season and could easily be used at anytime of the year. I definitely seeing this one spark some interest in a classroom to encourage kiddos to perhaps draw out their own thankful book.*thanks to LB Kids for providing a copy for review.*

3 Now, a retired kindergarten teacher, I first ran into a Todd Parr book by accident. The title: The Dos and Don'ts of Underwear.It became the most requested book in both sections of kdgn. The kids loved the book and laughed out loud everytime I read it. His style and kid-like drawings were a hit. I now have/own all of his books and just recently bought: The Thankful Book.It is delightful and ALL can relate to the subject matter. I have given away numerous copies of The Grandma Book and TheGrandpa Book to friends having their first grandchild. Don't hesitate! All of Todd Parr's books are GREAT and a starting pointfor discussions and writing a book of your own! What a great book that reminds us of those little, everyday things to be thankful for. I love all of Todd Parr's books but this one is near the top of my favorites. We love Todd Parr's other books, so we bought this one with Thanksgiving in mind. It did not disappoint. It is serious. It is a little silly. It is thankful. This is exactly what we were looking for. Every book on happiness I read raves about the value of being thankful. Once again, Todd Parr takes on a worthy subject and brings to it the simplicity and wisdom of a child. Beautiful illustrations and brilliant observations. I will share this with my thirty-two classes of primary children next week, just in time for Thanksgiving. I'm confident they will love it, too. I'm confident as well that teachers will be lined up to check it out. Great book for small children who have an issue with coming out of their own selfish little world. We discussed each page with our 4 year old grandson, and read it over and over. He loved it and actually ran out to his Mom and told her he was thankful for her. So something clicked! I wish they had this book when I was growing up. This book and other Todd Parr books teach the reader emotional lessons that are critical for anyone to develop into a functional, emotionally non reactive adult. If you are an adult and weren't prepared properly to be an adult by your parents, it's not too late- read Todd Parrs book.always an emotional and meaningful experience for me when I read these books, they hit a lot of sore spots, but they get through to me each and every time! We have many of the Todd Parr books, and I just love the positive message in all of his books. My son is 7 and still loves them as well. The illustrations are very different from any author illustrator

4 and the multi-colored people and body parts make for a wide interpretation of the words on the page. The books are simple and short, but we come back to them over and over again. I highly recommend this one, which focuses on being thankful for different aspects of life.
