The book has been divided into nine chapters. Last chapter of the book is on eighteenth century English literature. The book includes all the eminent contemporary authors with their respective periods. 3 Boas, Guy (2003): The book is informative on the Modern English Prose. It has covered almost all the major men and women writers. The writers in the book present the record from unity of interests, diversity, different interests and adventures that make up the life of a great and energetic nation. The book contains number of essays on history and biography, fiction and on literary criticism. 4 Bodeen, Donald Vol. 1. (2009): The present book is an extensive study of Charles Dickens and his writings with great details. The book provides critical notes on all his works. The book also provides comparative information about Dickens style to his contemporaries. Volume 1 of the books provides information about Dickens and his times and growth of Dickens as a writer. 5 Bodeen, Donald Vol. 2.
