4 Vocabulary 1. Vocabulary: As you go through this unit, learn a few new vocabulary words each day and add them to your Vocabulary book. Fold Instructions: Drinking Cup - Create a drinking cup following the instructions provided and cut out the cards. On the front of each card, write one vocabulary word and on the back write the definition. Store your cards in the drinking cup fold. Practice by looking at the word and then saying the definition and flipping the card over to double check. Who Was Isaac Newton? 2. What were four things Isaac Newton was? Fold Instructions: Four-Flap Book - Cut out the four-flap book and follow the instructions and illustrations to complete it. On each of the flaps write one of the things Isaac Newton was; underneath explain in more detail. Isaac Newton s Childhood 3. What were the three inventions of his boyhood? Fold Instructions: Wheel - Cut out the wheel graphic and on each of the sections of the bottom wheel write one of the 3 inventions of his boyhood. Place a brad through the center of each layer of the wheel to complete it. 4. What was his childhood like? Fold Instructions: Mini Book - Cut out the pages to the mini book and staple or glue at the left edge. Inside describe Newton s childhood. 5. Describe his education. Fold Instructions: Shape Book - Cut out the pages of the shape book and staple or glue the top edge. Inside, describe Newton s childhood. 6. In what areas did he make revolutionary advances? Write the definition of each. Fold Instructions: Flap Book - Complete this book by using the instructions that are provided with the Activity 6 graphic. Isaac Newton s Career 7. Describe his role in the University of Cambridge. Fold Instructions: Library Pocket - Complete the library pocket and on each of the cards describe different roles he played at the University of Cambridge. When complete, place them into your pocket. 8. What careers did Newton pursue? Fold Instructions: Shape Book - Cut out the pages of the shape book and staple or glue the top edge. Fold Instructions: Tab Book - Cut out the pages of the tab booklet and complete it as shown with the Activity 9 graphics.
