Authors often utilize various literary devices and techniques to not only develop the imagery, relationships, and plot of a story, but to develop their characters as well. Throughout The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger uses multiple literary devices and techniques to reveal and develop the complex character of Holden Caulfield. Carefully write a well-developed analysis that examines how literary devices are used to reveal Holden s characterization. Your analysis must use the CELEL body paragraph format and examine a minimum of two character traits and two literary devices.
