2 PLEMINARY PROGRAM: Sunday, September 18 Arrival and Registration Dinner and Welcome drink at Monday Friday Mornings: Plenary lectures, invited commentaries, discussions in small and large groups Afternoons: Discussion of participants case presentations in small groups, special papers, workshop and presentations, film screening and discussion, individual and group consultations, social events The program includes: A Guided Sight Seeing Walk in Mountains of Semmering and Farewell Gala Dinner (Friday, 23 th ) Departure after breakfast Saturday, September 24 th PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: All participants are kindly requested to bring for individual or/and group consultations written clinical material (no more than 4 pages with one or two sessions, ten copies) either of their analytical cases or material from psychoanalytical psychotherapy. As the topic of the school is Initiation you are encouraged to bring material of the first interviews or sessions of the already ongoing analyses. THE AIM OF THE ANNUAL SCHOOL IS TRAINING AND TEACHING. PRIORITY FOR PARTICIPATION WILL BE GIVEN TO EPI CANDIDATES AND REGISTERED ANALYSANDS AND TO INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS FROM IPA SOCIETIES AND STUDY GROUPS. REGISTRATION IS ORGANISED ON THE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS! VENUE: The Seminar will take place at Panhans Grand Hotel ( The Panhans Grand Hotel is situated 95 kilometers to the South of Vienna. From Vienna there are daily up to 10 trains to Semmering. It started to work Oskar Kokoschka and Stefan Zweig found their artistic inspirations here. At different times quite a few of other prominent figures of the Austrian Belle Époque were staying: among them composers Gustav Mahler and Arnold Schönberg, writer Arthur Schnitzler and last but not least - the founder of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud. One of the Freud s early cases, a case of his initial psychoanalytic consultation with a girl who in Studies of hysteria he calls Katharina took place on the mountain Rax, just opposite the location of our School in Semmering, 133 years ago. LANGUAGES: English and Russian. The plenary lectures will be given in English. Written translation of the lectures into Russian will be available as well. The discussions will be translated. REGISTRATION Accommodation and Prices: The inclusive cost for the conference, accommodation and meals (full board), coffee breaks, welcome reception and farewell dinner will be: Fee for IPA members is 600 Euros. Fee for IPA candidates is 500 Euros Fee for EPI candidates and registered analysands is 380 euros Euros * (*those who have not yet paid their annual dues as EPI candidates are required to pay 100 Euros in addition to their participation fees)

3 IPA members belonging to the EPI can register for reduced fee of 380 Euros* (*those who have not yet paid their annual dues to the EPI are required to pay 150 Euros in addition to the participation fees). A small number of places has been reserved for colleagues in difficult financial situations. However these places for a reduced fee are limited and can not be guaranteed. Those interested should contact the EPI board in advance. After 12 th of June Registration Fee for IPA members is 640 Euros. Fee for IPA candidates after is 540 Euros Fee for EPI candidates and registered analysands is 470 Euros * (*those who have not yet paid their annual dues as EPI candidates are required to pay 100 Euros in addition to their participation fees) Fee for IPA members belonging to EPI is 470 Euros* (* those who have not yet paid their annual dues to the EPI are required to pay 150 Euros in addition to their participation fees) The number of places is limited.
