1 Dear 5 th and 6 th Graders, To keep your minds sharp over the summer months, continue to practice your multiplication and division facts. To ensure efficiency and quickness, you should be able to compute 64 single digit multiplication or division facts in three minutes time. There are a number of websites that offer timed tests. In addition, you will be required to read a book from the attached list and write a book report using the guidelines attached. Have a great summer! See you in the fall. Sincerely, Miss Olsen

4 General Book Report Outline Guide Some words from your teacher Dear Students, I have outlined five paragraphs for you. The questions I ask in each paragraph are there to guide you through your book report. Do not merely answer each question. If you cannot answer the question, do not include it in your report. The way to use the outline below is to answer the questions on this very paper. You don t have to answer in full sentences, unless of course a wonderful sentence comes to mind. Then use the information to write your report. A smart person once said to me, If you write a good outline, your report will write itself. -Miss Olsen 1. Cover Page a. Title of Book b.
