If you have fully TAGged a novel in the first paragraph of the four body paragraphs over it, then you only need to have the page number(s) in the parentheses be sure to put the parenthetical citation at the END of the sentence that includes direct quotation of the text, and then the end punctuation for the sentence. 2. If you are quoting directly from Hamlet and you have already TAGged the work, you are to cite the act, scene and line number(s) in the parentheses at the end of the sentence. Act numbers are to be listed in upper- case Roman numerals, scene numbers are to be listed in lower- case Roman numerals, and then the line(s) should be listed in Arabic numerals. Example: (II.ii.37-39). 3. For poetry, after you have TAGged the work, all you need to have in the parentheses at the end of a sentence that includes directly quoted text from the poem is the line number(s) where the text can be found. 4. For any prose work accessed from an online or other non- paginated text, fully TAG the work, but include no parenthetical citation when you include direct quotations from the text.
