Author(s) Last Name(s) Volume 7, Issue 1, Spring, Delta Journal of Education 1 ISSN Published by Delta State University Title of Paper, size 18 NTR * font First Author a, Second Author b, Third Author c Institutional Affiliation(s) Abstract Follow APA guidelines to construct and present the abstract. Use New Times Roman font, size 12. Align to the left margin. Do not indent the first line. Use true 2.0 double spacing for editing purposes. Please enter two spaces between consecutive sentences. Type the abstract as a single paragraph without paragraph indentation. The recommended word limit for the abstract is 250 words. Keywords: indent using a single tab from the left-hand margin, type in keywords using lower case italic lettering and type keywords with beginning with small letters, and separated by a comma Authors need not duplicate the title page above. All that is necessary is the title, author(s) name(s) and affiliation, plus contact information as noted below. Author s notes should follow the guidelines of the APA Publication Manual 6 th ed. Authors notes: Please provide contact information for the corresponding and other authors. Contact information should include, name, title, department, institution, mailing address, and phone or information. Acknowledge funding sources on a separate line. Type in New Times Roman, size 10 font. Do not bold or use italics.
Author Names Volume 7, Issue,1, Title of Your Paper (NTR Size 16 font) This brief example illustrates the general format for a single experiment research article in APA style. For complete details on paper preparation refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6 th edition (2010) [the APA Publication Manual]. For other paper formats (meta-analyses, case studies, literature reviews and other possible types of publications commonly found in the field of Education), please consult the APA Publication Manual for information on formatting. All manuscripts received are subject to review for potential plagiarism using Turnitin or Grammarly. We encourage authors to conduct this review themselves. If necessary, we will submit a permission request to obtain access to a previously submitted manuscript. Write the manuscript using the active, not passive voice. Use the Spell and Grammar Checker in Microsoft Word, Grammarly, or another editorial review program to show passive voice wording and phrases and rewrite them in an active voice. Set the Spell and Grammar Checker in Microsoft Word (or Grammarly, or other editing program) to detect all grammar and style items listed (to access the settings go to File > Options > Proofing > Grammar (or Grammar and Style) > Settings and check all the elements. Set the spacing between sentences to two spaces. Use the Show/Hide ( ) tool in Microsoft Word and increase the manuscript size using the Zoom function to view it at % normal size to visualize errors in between-sentence spacing more easily. Then work on the manuscript to resolve any identified issues.
Author Names Volume 7, Issue,1, Once resolved consider submitting the manuscript. A well-prepared manuscript is more likely to gain acceptance than a poorly prepared manuscript. Please do not send first drafts of manuscripts take the time to edit and revise the manuscript as necessary to reduce grammar, style, and APA formatting and referencing issues. Also, avoid the use of jargon, and be conscientious of proper gender and the preferred designations for a variety of diverse groups. Center the title of the article on the first available line of type below the underscore separating the abstract and keywords from the text. Begin the text of the article by indenting one tab (.5 ) from the left-hand margin. To reiterate, the preferred typescript for the manuscript is New Times Roman, size 12. Use true double-spaced line separation when typing with no line spaces before or after a line. Do not add a space between paragraphs of the same style (for Microsoft Word go to Page Layout, Spacing and check the box Don t add space between paragraphs of the same style. ). Use a left page alignment. Do not center or justify the text. The left- and right page margins are 1 (top and bottom margins are 1.0 ). Position the header on the page.5 from the top, and any information contained in the footer should be.5 from the bottom of the page. Authors are responsible for ensuring compliance with APA publication requirements for manuscript preparation. Critical points of focus are the design and formatting of tables and figures, proper statistical notation formats, and correct in-text and reference section citations. List all references in the text in the reference section (Similarly, all references in the reference section must be in the
Author Names Volume 7, Issue,1, text). Manuscripts should be original and not like other papers published by the author(s) in other journals, books or other publications. It is inappropriate to submit the manuscript to more than one journal at a time. It is also inappropriate to receive help from the editing and editorial comments from one journal to improve the manuscript to enhance the likelihood of acceptance by another journal. The editing and review process can be lengthy. Do not expect an immediate turnaround on manuscripts. Currently, the Delta Journal of Education is experiencing an extended processing period of up to six months or more. The increased processing time is due to many issues including a) APA format and style issue, b) referencing errors, c) grammatical errors, and d) design and statistical errors that may produce the need for substantive revisions of the manuscript before sending it out for peer review. Method Participants Enter a full relevant description of the participants in the study. Materials and Procedure Enter the description of materials and procedures here. If necessary, use a separate section for Procedures (as shown below). Use subheadings if necessary to separate out special sections in the method section. Subheading. Use subheadings if necessary. For more information on the use of headings, please see the APA Publication Manual.
Author Names Volume 7, Issue,1, Procedure Enter a description of procedures used in the study here. Write in a clear and succinct style. Make sure that another researcher, wanting to replicate your study would be able to do so based on the description of the procedures provided in your manuscript. Results Describe the results fully. Use APA recommended guidelines for delineating statistical results (see APA Publication Manual, 6 th Edition). Either insert tables and graphs at the proper place in the manuscript or show the approximate location of tables or figures using the following format (also see a table insertion below): Enter Fig. 1 about here Tables and figures must conform to the formatting standards defined in the APA Publication Manual. The preference is for the use of black typeface for tables and graphs, although occasionally the journal published graphical displays generated by Microsoft EXCEL other similar programs that contained colored objects. Construct large tables or figures to fit on one page. For tables or figures larger than one page, consider placing them in an Appendix Enter Table 1 about here
Author Names Volume 7, Issue,1, Discussion Follow results with the discussion. Enter the centered header Discussion in boldface type. Begin typing one single, double space down from the heading. Please do not introduce new research or references in this portion of the manuscript. Integrate the results of the investigation with the literature presented in the introduction. Do not introduce new studies in this part of the paper. References Using a page-break to start a new page, begin the References section at once following the Discussion. Center the word References in boldface type (see above). Double space all references, using hanging indent format (.5 indent) and follow the guidelines for referencing found in the APA Publication Manual, 6 th Edition. Include either the Digital Object Identifier (doi) or complete online ( or address) source information for each reference if available (see the APA Publication Manual for specifics on references from electronic databases, the Internet, and other sources). The address must take the reader to the landing page of the article, not to a database site or other address that does not give access to the publication. Editor s Note: All references must be accurate, and follow APA referencing standards. Please check references for completeness, spacing, italics, the specification of the date, journal, volume and issue number and page numbers before submission. It is the author s responsibility to ensure that all references follow the guidelines for references in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6 th edition (available at For electronic references obtained from online databases or other online source, please be sure to include the proper address that will take readers to the landing page of the
Author Names Volume 7, Issue,1, article, not the database site name or address of the database. If a digital object identifier and information are available for a published work, please include both to ease ease of access for readers. Please make sure all links are active at the time of submission. Authors should consult the American Psychological Style Guide to Electronic References, Sixth Edition available at
