10 Test from required reading: 2 nd thru 8 th Grade Be prepared to answer questions that will include the names of the main characters, a physical description of each main character, a description of the setting (time period and place), a description of the problem (conflict) in the story, and a description of the final outcome. Book Report Rubric for 5 th, 6 th, 7 th and 8 th : Your book report should include the title, author, type of book (fiction or non-fiction), names of main characters, and a short description of each character. Include a one-paragraph introduction (good place for the title, author, type of book), one paragraph naming and describing the characters, a one-paragraph summary of the story, a one-paragraph reaction to the book (Did you like it? Why or why not?), and one-paragraph conclusion of your report. This report must be typed and turned in no later than Friday, August 15, Summer Reading Parental Acknowledgement Form For 2 nd thru 8 th Grade Students entering second through fourth grades are required to read three books over the summer break and be prepared for a test on the required book for your grade level the first week of school. A book report is not required for Kindergarten thru 4 th grade. The information for each book should be filled out on this form and sent back to school on the first day.
