Whether you visit the library, your local bookstore, Raz-Kids.com or search Scholastic on-line, please have your child read, read, and read some more. Below is a list of recommended books, but feel free to explore books that interest your child. Please remember that your child will be asked to report on at least one book that they read over the summer during the first weeks of school. Enjoy reading together as part of your summer adventures! 6 Dear 2nd Grade Families, Summer Work for incoming 2nd graders must be completed before the student returns to school on Thursday August 16, Summer is a great time to read! Whether you visit the library, a local bookstore, Lexia, RAZ-Kids.com or Scholastic on-line; please have your child read, read, and read some more. The following list of recommended books are terrific but please feel free to explore books that interest your child. During the first weeks of school students WILL be asked to report on one of the books that they read over the summer. Please enjoy reading with your child as part of your family summer adventures! Also, have your child review single digit addition and subtraction. Success in second grade math requires memorizing these basic math facts. Finally, and most importantly, step away from your electronics - go outside and play!
