Traditionally you have two choices: ONE You spend big to print several hundred books, find garage space to store them, set up a website to sell them and beg bookshops to display them. 4 How it Works You can choose to sell your book in ebook format only paperback only or both. 1. ebooks Our ebooks are sold in PDF format in the same size as the printed version. Therefore, if you already have a printed version, you could almost certainly use the printer s copy PDF file. However, a large proportion of our books are packaged with a second PDF file formatted specially for ereaders at no extra cost to the buying public. This ensures that the ebooks can be comfortably read on the widest range of devices. If, however, you wish us to do the book layout and PDF conversion for you, we will need the book in Word or OpenOffice format. There is of course a small fee for the layout work but we will happily assist you at no charge to do it yourself. Although conversions can be done with a simple click of the mouse, to get the job done properly, one most likely has to make styles changes right through the whole book. You decide on the selling price. For each sale, the revenue split is 65:35 in your favour. Finally, we do not request any form of exclusivity! We are here to help you sell your book not to hinder you in any way. We are simply another sales avenue for you.

5 2. Paperbacks (Print on Demand) You us the specifications of your book from which we will determine a special cost price for your print on demand book. You add whatever mark up you wish to arrive at your selling price. You then send us the high resolution print ready PDF file. Cover in a separate file. We will print around 4 copies to hold as stock for every title entrusted to us. You pay nothing. We handle all storage, packing and running to the post office. Our holding a small stock of your book is to ensure rapid dispatch of books. While other online shops quote 1-2 weeks for delivery, we try to ensure immediate delivery. We simply want to help get books out which otherwise would never see the light of day. Here are some of the frequently asked questions. Q: Q: What formats are the ebooks provided in? A: We offer our books in PDF format, which is universally accepted across all ereaders, Tablets and computers. We have moved away from providing epub and MOBI formats due to their lack of compatibility with different ereaders. However, if you wish to still include your ebook on Writers and ebooks in these formats, you can easily do it yourself using a free software like Calibre. Why is PDF preferred over epub or MOBI? A: PDF is universally compatible with all ereaders, Tablets etc. and brilliantly displays graphics while retaining the accuracy of the page layout and colours. Future, more advanced ereaders will benefit from these PDF files. It is especially galling when viewing pages with graphics and captions formatted in epub or MOBI. Furthermore, ereaders are rapidly losing ground to Tablets in world sales. Q: Am I locked into any exclusivity agreements with Writers and ebooks? A: No, in fact we encourage you to use as many outlets to sell your book as you can.

7 Q: What is National Library Deposit and how does it work? A: The Federal Copyright Act 1968 and other applicable State Acts place an obligation on publishers to provide a copy of each new book published in Australia to the National Library of Australia and certain other State or Territory Libraries depending on the legislation of the state where the book is published. For books published in NSW, this includes the State Library of NSW, NSW Parliamentary Library and the University of Sydney Library. We take care of this requirement as publishers and charge only $10 per book to cover the cost of printing and postage. Q: Q: What is an ISBN and how do I get one? A: An ISBN is a book's unique identification number, which is printed on the back of a book (often with a bar code). We have purchased a block of ISBN numbers in order to pass on the savings and the convenience to our writers. As such, we are able to offer an ISBN number and its corresponding bar code at a substantially reduced price of $22.00 including GST. The price includes the submission of a copy of your book to the National Library of Australia if it is printed by us. These numbers and barcodes are instantly available. Can anyone and anything get published? A: No. While we are happy to host writers works, our only condition is that we reserve the right to refuse to accept any book at our sole discretion.
