Auditions are open to Spring enrolled Academy Students 5 years old and older. Auditions will consist of a prepared vocal selection not to exceed 45 seconds for 5 year olds - 6th graders and 60 seconds for 7th-12th graders. A dance combination will also be taught during auditions. Vocal audition piece should be from a musical or similar style of show. DO T SING A SONG FROM THE SHOW! A CD player and iphone jack with amp will be available. Please have music downloaded or burned to a CD and not streamed from YouTube, Spotify, or the Internet. Auditionees must download and fully complete audition forms from Academy Website before auditions. Do not come to auditions with out these already filled out!!! 3 Cast of Characters Ugly Our story's youthful protagonist. Gawky and odd-looking, he is shunned for his odd appearance. Possesses a heart of gold. Age: 15 to 25 Vocal range top: G#4 Vocal range bottom: Bb2 Ida Ugly's loving mother and the only person who is supportive of the outcast child. Gender: Female Age: 30 to 45 Vocal range bottom: F3 Cat Our story's antagonist. Sly and cunning, he is a very hungry cat who preys on his next meal. Age: 20 to 35 Vocal range top: Bb4 Vocal range bottom: C3 Maureen A moorhen and Ida s best friend. She s lively, well meaning, but a busybody. Age: 30 to 50 Vocal range top: G4 Vocal range bottom: A2 Lowbutt Queenie s BFF, a domesticated chicken. A little nervous of disposition and a bit of a worrier. Gender: Female Age: 16 to 25 Vocal range bottom: G#3 Henrietta A friend of Maureen and Ida's, she is somewhat of a busybody. Gender: Female Age: 16 to 25 Vocal range bottom: C4 Turkey The School Headmaster who is self-basting, self-boasted prime specimen. Deathly afraid of Thanksgiving. Age: 40 to 60 Vocal range top: F#4 Vocal range bottom: A2 Grace Father Swan Most distinguished duck on the lake and the school governor. Proud, honest, and genuine.
