Carrie is a seven-time GRAMMY Award-winning, multi-platinum, country music superstar, and devoted philanthropist. She uses her platform to contribute to causes she feels passionate about, and charity work has always been a priority for her. She and her husband, Mike Fisher, are ardent supporters of Danita s Children, an organization dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children and families in Haiti. In addition to supporting countless charities, Carrie founded her own in 2009, entitled C.A.T.S. (Checotah Animal, Town, and School) Foundation, which is a fund that supports various causes in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma. It is a privilege to recognize such an inspiring individual who truly embodies the word HERO.

22 HERO CHANGE FOR CARLOS POLANCO WHAT MAKES CARLOS A HERO FOR CHANGE: Carlos Polanco was named the Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He has been a member of the club for six years and continues to lead, succeed, and inspire. Not only does Carlos volunteer his time at soup kitchens and high school open houses, but he is also the first male to volunteer at the Club s early childhood department. He helped found the Clifton Student Union, which is run entirely by students, for students, and provides representation to Clifton s Education Committee.
