3 SCIENCE 1. Calculating BMI Do you know the harm, fast food can cause to your health? Fast food doesn t provide you the vital nutrients required for your growth and adds to body fat. As a result of which you feel lazy and tired all the time. Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of your weight calculated according to your height. It is a simple test used to assess how much a person s body weight should be in accordance with his or her body weight. It is done to classify underweight, overweight and obesity in people. It can be calculated easily at home without the use of expensive equipments. BMI is calculated by this formulae:- Weight (Kilograms) BMI = Height (meters) X Height (meters) BMI (Kg / Meter square) Less than 18.5 Classification Underweight Normal weight Overweight Class I obesity Class II obesity 40 upwards Class III obesity So calculate your BMI this summer, to check if you are physically fit.
