2 IT S SUMMER TIME AGAIN We wish that you enjoy every minute of this long break with your family and friends. It will be great if you are able to find time to visit museums and monuments, learn new things, explore new areas near your house, play indoor and outdoor games, read as many story books as you can, help your parents and grandparents, go for morning walk and play in the park in the evenings during your long summer break. We are giving you a variety of fun-filled activities which you can do during the noon time. Do them neatly and then keep them in a folder made by you and submit to your teachers after the vacation. Wishing all of you a very enjoyable and fun-packed summer break.

4 Dear Parent, Summer vacations can be immensely beneficial for a child provided they are used judiciously and for the same we need the support of parent to closely monitor the child and be involved with them throughout. Cartoon watching is fun. This is the age wherein they enjoy the same. But make it a good learning experience. Just change the language from Hindi to English. Pick words from it repeat the same words over and over again. Try to add one word in the child s vocabulary daily. Indulge in healthy communication it can be on global warming, pollution, moral values, importance of being disciplined, etc. Write at least a page daily of cursive hand writing. The same can be an extract from newspaper. If not possible to go out of station do take child to local places and tell him/her to write a travelogue sort of piece. Say visit to Town Park, mall, India gate, any local market this is just to improve their expression while writing and their retrospection skills. Take child for fine dining at least twice. Let them explore different cuisine and encourage them to place an order and clear the query regarding their order. Authentic ingredients with their correct pronunciation can be very beneficial Go for long walks early in the morning. Let them have a feel of nature before the sun is out. The whiff of fresh air, the sounds of birds. Connect with nature makes them a way creative in their approach. Take good care of your child s health and hygiene. Avoid heavy and oily food and increase intake of fresh fruits and water to keep your child well hydrated and energetic. Use the given activities as an opportunity to spend quality time together. Let your child take the lead and use his/ her imagination, creativity and knowledge to do the assigned task. The role of the parent is to be a facilitator and guide to steer the child in the right direction. He will find his own destination.

5 Here are a few interesting activities to keep your child engrossed and engaged during this vacation. Click pictures of the following activities and paste them in a scrap book to be shared in the class. Plant a sapling on the very first day of your vacation. Water it daily and observe the result on the last day of your vacation. As summers have approached, its our duty to take care of the innocent birds. So this vacation take out time to feed them daily with fresh water and grains. Collect and paste pictures and wrappers of the items that are used to keep oneself clean. For example toothpaste, soap, etc.

6 Refresh yourself You will need: A glass of water A tablespoon of castor sugar Two tablespoon of lemon juice Half teaspoon of black salt A cup of crushed ice Instructions :- Take a glass. Place all the ingredients in it and stir until it is smooth. Serve it with ice. LET S GET CREATIVE WITH FRUITS Instead of just piling fruits we can carefully place each fruit to make FUNNY FRUIT FACES. Have fun and create funny faces with your favorite fruits with the help from your parents, the pictures below are just the examples, you can create your own funny face.

7 Fun ride with grandparents- Take your child with his/her grandparents to any one of the following fun rides: Visit to the zoo Metro train Doll museum Rail museum Any historical monument
