The video clearly appeals to its audience with a clear message of importance and urgency. This rhetorical video analysis will include the rhetorical appeals of ethos, logos, and pathos, and how they are represented throughout the video. The author illustrates ethos from the beginning and asks the audience to believe in a perfect world. It sets a credible mood that in a perfect world the only thing that exist is cleanliness and pureness. It starts off by showing green pastures, full of flowers and tall green trees, with clean clear rivers and clear blue skies. This makes the viewer believe that there is no other way but a clean perfect world. A world where all that exist is perfect, like the perfect sunset with the dolphin jumping out of the water, and clear blue skies. There is nothing more credible to a perfect day than a display of a perfect rainbow to illustrate the belief of a pure world, with pure clean air. The song that is used sets the mood throughout the video of a perfect world where we are happy together. The mood then changes when the music changes to a faster pace that makes one believe that time is running out. The duck covered in oil supports the cruel reality of oil fracking results. The murky pond with bubbling oil spill adds on the likelihood of oil fracking. Oil fracking smoke stacks with dark smoke coming out covers what was once a clear blue sky. The reality of fresh clean air is gone and no more pureness is around. The heart monitor adds on the ethos by emphasizing the importance and urgency of the matter and is supported by the yellow signs which represent to be cautious. The yellow caution signs are easily recognized as warning sing and brings out the credibility of

Finally a long beep is heard in the background which is representation of the end, and at the end it simply asks, What the Frack? What just happened? The logos part of this commercial is that it is logical to have green pastures, full of flowers and tall green trees, with clean clear rivers and clear blue skies if there is no oil fracking. This makes the audience believe that logically there is nothing more but a perfect world. A world so compelling with perfect sunsets and dolphins jumping out of the water, clear blue skies with a perfect rainbow to illustrate the belief of a pure world, with pure clean air. The song sensibly goes well with the video and sets the mood throughout the video of a perfect world where we are happy together. Logically everyone wants clean fresh air, clean clear water, and clear blue skies. Justifiably, the video then changes the music to a faster paced that makes one believe that time is running out. The duck covered in oil logically supports the reality of oil fracking results. The murky pond with bubbling oil spill resulted more than likely result from oil fracking. Convincingly there will be no fresh air or blue skies if our horizons are covered with oil fracking smoke stacks with dark smoke coming out. The heart monitor adds conviction that logically the end is near. Also the yellow signs represents caution. Finally a long beep is heard in the background which is obvious of the representation of the end. It is logical to assume that one wants a horizon covered with smoke stack and gray skies as well other secondary effects that come with oil fracking. Pathos is expressed throughout the visual message. The music for the first part of the visual aid is very happy go lucky and makes you feel good. The illustrated green

The crystal clear water and clear blue skies with perfect rainbows adds to the cheerfulness and peacefulness of the video implying a zen full moment. The perfect sunset with the dolphin jumping out of the water completes video s perception of a perfect complete day. Then the appeal of pathos become dreary to begin with the music. The music adds to the urgency that time is running out. The duck covered in oil makes you want to do something to help that helpless creature. The bubbling murky ponds makes you feel disgust knowing the cause of this result was oil fracking. The smoke stacks with the dark dim background makes one feel cold, sad, and lonely. The heart monitor adds to feeling of something is not right and makes one want to do something to fix the problem. The warning signs in yellow conveys a message to care and do the right thing. The long beep at the end is mournful, it is representation of the end, and is easily recognized as death. The commercial ties in the effective use of rhetorical appeal. In ethos by asking the viewer to see and believe how real oil fracking is and its effect on the world. In logos by logically demonstrating that green pastures and clear blue skies will be gone if oil fracking continues. In pathos all the emotions are there from the music, happy in the beginning to a sense of urgency at the end, to feeling good and pure and ending feeling sad and eventually death. This advertisement is intended for a mature audience who want to make a change. The audience must be willing to analyze the rhetorical appeal of ethos, pathos, and logos of the video in order to comprehend the representation of the video. The viewers must understand the credibility of the reality of the consequences that can happen if something is not done to correct these actions. The viewer must have logic and be well informed to make a rational decision from the video. Finally the
