3 Kindergarten-3 rd Grade Artistic Foundations Strand 2008 MN Arts Standards to Benchmarks STANDARD SUBSTRAND BENCHMARK Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the arts area Identify the elements of dance including body, action, space, time & energy Identify the elements in media arts such as image, sound, space, time, motion & sequence Identify the elements of music including melody, rhythm, harmony, dynamics, tone color, texture, form & their related concepts Identify the elements of theater including plot, theme, character, language, sound & spectacle Identify the elements of visual art including color, line, shape, texture & space Demonstrate knowledge & use of the technical skills of the art form, integrating Demonstrate replicated & improvised movement using control & coordination Identify technology in a variety of dance contexts for research & feedback Identify how hardware such as digital still cameras, digital video camcorders & computers are used for creation of media arts.
