2 Q&A with JOSEPH JOSEPH answers questions about his life, experiences, and good memories Which words describe your personality? Happy, stubborn, thoughtful, helpful, loyal. Describe your strong sides: I can look at situations objectively, and I can usually empathize with both sides of a given problem. I solve problems based on a logic approach, and I am fairly quick to obtain new skills. Describe your weak sides: I tend to overthink situations, and the words of others. I have a hard time understanding sarcasm, unless it is very thick. What is your marital status? Girlfriend. Do you have any children? No. Do you eat healthy? I try. Do you smoke? No. Do you ride a bicycle? Often. How much alcohol do you drink on average per week? 3 drinks. Which countries have you visited: Spain, France, England, Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Netherlands, Hungary, Egypt, Ecuador, Peru. Describe the best holiday you have had: A trip to the Galapagos Islands with my dad. We took a 14 day holiday where we also saw Machu Picchu and the rainforest in Peru. What do you like the most about your own country: I like the freedom of speech and religion. I like the way society tries to care for people who are less fortunate. I like the education system in Denmark. Which types of sport do you play or have played? Badminton. Which other types of sports are you interested in? Martial Arts. List any other hobbies you may have or have had: Role-playing games. List which musical instruments you play or have played: None. Religion: Atheist. How many hours of sleep do you get on an average night? 8.

3 Q&A with JOSEPH - continued JOSEPH s dreams, favourites and experiences Who are your idols/heroes/heroines? Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr and a lot of other scientists. They have made a huge contribution to our understanding of the world, the forces that interact with each other. I would very much like to make a contribution to my field, there is as important as those made by the scientists I ve chosen to name above. Greatest sorrow: The knowledge of not being able to live forever. Most dangerous: Probably the same experience as my scariest, or when me and some friends got mugged on our way home from a night out in the city. What are your goals in life? I want to become someone who can give something back to society, like an invention or something like that. What were your childhood dreams: To become a hero, in a superhero kind of way. Now that I am older, I will settle for hero. Which values do you rank the highest? Honor and honesty. Which childhood experience made the biggest impression on you? I do not remember which experience made the biggest impression, but I still remember when my childhood friend s mother almost died when she fell off her bicycle. Had it not been for her helmet, she would not be alive today. This made a big impression on me, and I still think about the story every time I get on a bicycle myself. Which was your greatest experience or moment? Standing on the top of a small mountain on one of the Galapagos Islands and looking out over the sea. It was so peaceful, and beautiful. Happiest: Reaching the top of Mount Sinai together with my girlfriend, on a trip to Egypt. It was such a nice experience watching the sunrise with her, after walking up to the top. Funniest: When me and my brother went to see the Danish comedian, Anders Anden Matthesen s show. I don t remember a time where I have laughed more. Scariest: When I got pseudocroup in the middle of the night. The feeling that I was not able to breathe was pretty scary. Proudest: Probably when I got my Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology, but I imagine that this moment will be surpassed when I obtain my Masters Degree or when I marry the girl of my dreams. What is your favourite colour? My favorite colour is black (although it is a shade, not a colour). I do not know why. What is your favourite animal? I do not have a favourite animal, but I like cats (Felidae). What is your favourite kind of food? Steaks. Rare/Medium rare. What is your favourite kind of music: I like Metal in a broad sense, but I also enjoy Classical Music (I think that both types of music have a kind of calming effect on me). What is your favourite kind of car: McLaren makes pretty nice cars, but I have never been that into cars. What is your favourite kind of pet: Cat (They are relatively easy to keep, and can be fun to play with, when they are young). What is your favourite time of year: Late spring (The perfect weather for almost every outdoor activities - running, soccer, picnic etc.). What is your favourite book and/or author: None. What is your favourite movie and/or director: I like thrillers (Se7en, Inception e.g.) and Action/Fantasy movies (Marvel Universe and the Lord of the Rings e.g.).
