4 PRESENT SIMPLE 3. SPELLING OF THE HE / SHE / IT FORM: Most verbs just add s to the base form of the verb wants, eats, helps, ect. Add ed to verbs that end in ss, sh, ch, x, and o. kisses, washes, watches, fixes, goes, etc. Verbs that end in a consonant and y change the y to ies carries, flies, worries, tries, etc. Adapted from New Headway Intermediate 4th Edition

5 PRESENT SIMPLE 4. ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY We often use adverbs of frequency with Present Simple. They go before the main verb, but after the verb be.
