16 Famous Neighborhoods I live in Coyoacan. It s a historic neighborhood of Mexico City. It has a busy cultural life. There are theatres, art galleries and museums. Croyoacan has beautiful squares and houses. The house of the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo is here. It s called the Blue House. It is now a museum. There is also the Plaza Shopping Center, an Olympic pool, a gym and a beautiful park. There are many restaurants and eating places with food from all over the world. You can have great Mexican food, too. I m from Brooklyn, New York. Brooklyn is a great place to live. There are so many different cultures and traditions here. Everything is near. Manhattan is only ten minutes away by subway. There is the famous Brooklyn Bridge. Prospect Park has playgrounds, two lakes and an ice-skating rink. We have a museum and a botanical garden. We also have restaurants with food from all over the world and the best pizzerias anywhere. I love it here. Page 16 of 30

20 Unit 7 Where do you live? 11. Form, Meaning and Function... p. 63 Adjectives have got a comparative and a superlative form. We use the comparative to compare two people or two things. To form the comparative, we add -er to the adjective and then the word than. Form: Short adjectives adjective + er + than A horse is taller than a sheep. Long adjectives more + adj. + than The red car is more expensive than the blue one. Dina is more beautiful than Rana. Spelling rules If we have one syllable adjectives ending in a consonant preceded by a vowel, double the final consonant. hot. hotter than June is hotter than December. big.. bigger than The pyramid is bigger than the school. If we have two-syllable adjectives ending in a (-y) cross the (-y) and add (-ier). funny. funnier than The clown show is funnier than the lion show. happy.. happier than Ahmad is happier than Marawan. 21 We use the superlative to compare a person or a thing with two or more people or things. To form the superlative, we use the word the, then we add -est to the adjectives and then of / in Form: Short adjectives the + adjective +est + of/in She is the cleverest of all.
