What lesson was learnt Stage Three: Writing the story Showing the Internal Conflict It is not always easy to do the right thing even when we know that we should. Hence, in order to portray the situation realistically, the character s struggle to make the right decision should be illustrated. (I) Should I tell Mrs Lim? If I kept quiet, she would never know and I would have earned myself an A* in Mathematics for the very first time! Conversely, pointing out the error would mean a whopping four-mark deduction and finding myself in the 80s mark band again. I bit my lip as I deliberated over the situation.

They had always impressed upon me the importance of acting with integrity and I knew they would be disappointed in me if I allowed my desire to emerge top in class to cloud my judgment Taking something that doesn t belong to you is stealing, even if you don t know who it belongs to, the voice of my form teacher echoed in my head. That was what she had told us during a recent civics and moral education lesson J ted by this reminder, I felt my cold and numb fingers gradually loosen their grip on the phone As his nerves got the better of him and his hands began quivering uncontrollably, the bottle slipped from his grasp and tiny little capsules began pouring out from their receptacle Tommy gazed at the capsules which lay in state of d a _ ray on the ground. In that instant, he was struck by how his athletic ambitions could end up in that same state should he decide to cheat in this competition
