2 GRAMMAR PRESENTATION DESCRIPTIVE ADJECTIVES NOUN BE ADJECTIVE Arnold Schwarzenegger is He is a ADJECTIVE NOUN actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are strong They are famous actors NOTES 1. Adjectives describe nouns. 2. Adjectives can come after the verb BE Adjectives come before a noun. EXAMPLES Arnold Schwarzenegger is strong. Yoko is young. He is a famous man. NOT He is a man famous. 3. Adjectives do not change form. singular new student, tall boy plural new students, tall boys NOT new students, tall boys 4. When a noun follows an adjective, use an before the adjective if the adjective begins with a vowel sound Use a before the adjective if the adjective begins with a consonant sound. 5. Do not use a or an when the adjective is not followed by a noun. DISCOVER THE GRAMMAR He's an interesting actor. She's a strong athlete. It is important. He is tall.
