Even though your eyes are tiny compared with Duke s, open your peepers and see if you can spy these things at Kingdom VBS: Chadder someone laughing a leader wearing a costume a musical instrument friends a Bible a barnyard animal food something smaller than your eye someone sporting a hat There s No Palace Like Home Today you ll hear about a woman in the Bible who was picked to be the queen. She left her regular house and got to move to the palace. How awesome would that be? With your Crew, let each person say the following sentence, filling in the blanks with words that start with the first letter of their name: A horse named JJS Summer Breeze holds the record for the longest tail 12 feet and 6 inches! That s about the same length of your three smallest Crew members standing on each other s shoulders. I m [Name]. (At night, they re up and at em, hunting for a late-night snack.) What do you spend your days doing? Tell your Kingdom Crew your top five favorite things to do on a summer day. But You Can Call Me Today you ll hear about Jesus God s very own Son. In the Bible, Jesus actually had lots of names: Emmanuel (that means God with us ), Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, and Lion of Judah. Do your friends or family members call you a name other than your real name? Sometimes we call those nicknames they might describe you or be a shorter way to say your real name. If you have a nickname, tell your Crew what it is and how you got it. If you don t have one, maybe your Crew can come up with a fun or silly nickname for you! Laugh It Up! What play did Sir Valiant star in on Broadway? "A Chorus Lion." What do you call a crazy lion? A mane-iac. Lions live in big groups called prides. A pride is kind of like a lion s family. For example, a hungry fox will become friends with a dog or cat in order to share the pet s food dish. Pretty smart! Speaking of smart, the friends in your Crew are clever kids. Who would you go to if you wanted to learn about bugs? needed to solve a big math problem? had to learn a dance? wanted to make a spectacular snack? wondered how to throw a football? had a question about the Bible? King of the World! Today you ll hear about a guy named Josiah who became the king when he was only 8 years old! One of the first things Josiah did was make sure everyone obeyed God s laws. Smart kid!
