5 Faribault Senior Living Family Christmas Wish This is a story of a lovely lady, who had 3 boys of her own, she met a man who also had 3 boys, and they came together to form a modern day Brady bunch. The dad in this newly formed family suffered a terrible fall and has been recovering from his injuries. He will forever deal with the after effects of the fall, and is trying to learn his new normal routine. Mom and Dad make their children their #1 priority. As most kids do, these boys are very much into sports and other after school activities, Mom and Dad want their boys to be able to participate however as we know, it gets pretty expensive. According to the person who nominated this family, these boys are very well mannered and respectful, they are hard working and Mom and Dad have worked really hard to mesh this bunch into a family. Mom and Dad have kept faith that things will turn around and always keep moving forward, one day at a time. Recently the home that Mom and Dad were renting was sold, and this family of 8 is looking to relocate, with 6 boys and a Dad who is still recovering from his injury, this has proven to be quite a task that this family is having to undertake. For gift ideas please see the board outside Sarah s office.

7 Tips to Reduce Holiday Stress If you re feeling overwhelmed and stressed, it s time to put the following relaxation plan into action. Once you re feeling relaxed, it will help you find greater happiness and purpose as you go about your day. Ideally, don t wait until stress becomes all-consuming make it a habit to use these relaxation strategies regularly and often, especially before, during and after the holidays. Exercise Exercise affects a neurotransmitter that has an antidepressant-like effect on your brain while helping to decrease muscle tension Spend Time in Nature Even five minutes in nature can help reduce stress and boost your mood, helping you to relax. Participate in Activities You Enjoy Be sure to leave time for the holiday activities you love most, whether it s caroling, decorating your Christmas tree, or writing holiday cards. Stay Positive Those who are optimistic have an easier time dealing with stress, and are more inclined to open themselves up for opportunities to have positive, regenerative experiences. Take a Break or Meditate Taking even 10 minutes to sit quietly and shut out the chaos around you can trigger your relaxation response. Meditating during your breaks can help you to decrease feelings of stress and anxiety even more. Live in the Present Turn off your racing mind and simply focus on only the task at hand. Avoid worrying about what you need to do later in the day or tomorrow (if you have trouble shutting out such thoughts, jot them down on a piece of paper to help clear your mind). Nurture Yourself Try mini-relaxations, or a quick walk to ease tension. Be sure you re eating right, sleeping well and laughing often. Be Grateful Focus on what you re grateful for. Keep a gratitude journal and write down why you re grateful each day. Focus on what you do have this holiday season instead of what you don t. Use Visualization Close your eyes and imagine yourself relaxing on the beach or sitting in front of a cozy fireplace with your family. You can also visualize your perfect holiday, which is especially useful if you re worrying over what might go wrong. (Although, you should let go of the idea that your holiday must be perfect in order to be enjoyable.)
8 Laundry Room Hours Resident use everyday 6am-3pm Closed everyday 3pm-6am for staff to provide laundry service. Do not leave any personal items in the laundry room Garbage & Recycling Etiquette Only cardboard, glass and plastic (no Styrofoam!) Please do not put garbage in the recycling bins.
