3 Set up: 1. Place a question on each student desk. It s helpful to place a number card at each place, along with the scoot question. This is a larger-size visual that helps students rotate around the room correctly. It can be as simple as an index card that you fold in half to make a tent. 2. Give each student a blank answer sheet. Clipboards are helpful, too, if you have them. To Play: 1. Each student should stand at a desk. The question on that desk will be their first question. When you say Go, students will answer the question and record the answer on their answer sheet. Students stay there if they finish before the signal to Scoot to the next question.. 2. After a set amount of time (15-30 seconds, depending on your class) call Scoot and each student goes to the next numbered question, answers it, and waits for the Scoot signal to move to the next question.. 3. Students continue rotating to the next question each time you call Scoot until they are back at their starting point. Time 4 Teaching

4 Helpful ideas: -Before playing for the first time, put the number cards on the desks and have your students practice moving from number to number to get the flow of the traffic pattern. -Each time you play a new game, use a different signal for Scoot. You could play a sound file on your computer, ring a bell, sing a few notes, shake maracas, or any other fun sound! Since there are two games in this activity package, after your students have played through each set, mix and match cards from both sets to create brand new games! (Use the unnumbered answer sheet for this game.) Time 4 Teaching
