2 Character Value of the Month Laughing together is a way to connect, and a good sense of humor also can make kids smarter, healthier, and better able to cope with challenges. One of the best things you can do to develop your child's sense of humor is to use your own. Make jokes. Tell funny stories. Laugh out loud. A key aspect to developing your child's sense of humor is to take time to have fun as a family. Share jokes, play games, and watch funny movies together. Adopt your own offbeat family traditions, whether it's hanging spoons off your noses or wearing matching pajamas. It will be funny now and maybe even funnier in years to come, when you and your kids remember those silly family times.

3 Children s Lighthouse Fitness Program We are pleased to announce our Lighthouse Fitness program. Ms. Brianna Green will be our fitness instructor, she has been a part of the Lighthouse teaching team for 1 year. We are excited to give her the opportunity to grow with our school and help implement an exciting fitness experience. Our program will be catered to our Toddler and Preschool program and they will have fitness class once a week. Weekly Themes! And a good sense of humor doesn t just help kids emotionally or socially. Research has shown that people who laugh more are healthier. 6 PRELUDE MUSIC EXPRESS Spring 2019 Babies Songs focusing on the element of discovery which stimulate the child s senses. Bubble and Peeka-boo songs with scarves, Name song which includes colors of what they wear. Finger plays such as 10 wiggly fingers, Grandma s glasses. Nursery rhyme songs that include spring songs. Examples being: Alphabet song, twinkle twinkle, Good morning songs and what are you wearing. We will be introducing rocking and b o u n c i n g s o n g s a n d lullabies. Appropriate percussive instruments used for musical discovery. Dear Parents, Music time is an adventure as we explore the world through a musical looking glass and reinforce the skills needed to grow and acquire knowledge. Early Childhood is a time for rapid growth and my aim is to awaken and develop your child s talent and joy for music. Our musical journey consists of many elements such as singing, clapping, chanting, stomping, moving, and guided listening. Focus will be on springtime and all the beauty and colors that surround us and the newness of the world in bloom. Music continually focuses on surrounding elements and reinforces colors of the rainbow, counting songs, days of the week, body awareness and exploring the many beautiful things and cultures in the world.
