It certanly Is, Charle, especally when a show as pathetc as ths can get onstage at all, let alonb at a West End Theatre. I saw a revew of the show n a rval paper last week and t was one of the most uncomplmentary revews I've ever read. On reflecton, t was too knd. 'Let The Good Stones Roll' s a very poor Joke, atrocously acted and conceved wth astonshng stupdty. It's completely obvous that Rayner Bourton, who wrote ths farce, has about as much dea of rock 'n' roll lfe as my mother. The scrpt s just laughable, not to menton naccurate. When a reporter asks Keth Rchard (Coln CopperBed) what hs name s, he reples Keth Rchards. In the portrayal of the relatonshp between Mck and Bran Jones, Jones Is supposedly solely responsble for the rft; whereas, n fact, Jagger's malce towards Jones was well known. The actors all use voces that sound lke mddle class hooray boys tryng to be rootsv. r d The nadr of the play - whch had me snggerng hopelessly - came n what I suppose was meant to be an emotonally charged scene. Bran Jones' ghost makes an appearance onstage and sngs an ncredbly bad, dumb cabaret slop number whle - and get ths - the rest of the Stones all prouette and prance about n "slow moton" lke n those shampoo ads. God. The cover versons of the songs they do are woefully nadequate; ths Jagger (Lous Selwyn) has no voce at all.
