3 Grammar 21.1 RelativeClauses A relative clause is a sentence which describes a noun. In Japanese, the relative clause comes before the noun, usually in the Plain Form. If there is a subject in the relative clause, it is generally followed by particles or "CO". This is the cake that I made. Do you remember the person to whom you spoke on the phone yesterday? 21.2 Potential expression (I can do...) There are two ways to express possibility in Japanese; one with " C and the other, with the potential form of a verb, which will be introduced in Lesson 27."
