8 READING COMPREHENSION: READ THE FOLLOWING PASSAGE, THEN ANSWER THE QUESTIONS BELOW: The sea is very essential to man. If there were no seas, there would be no rain or rivers to get drinkable water. Besides, the sea gives us a great deal of fish which is an important nutrient food we have to eat. From it, we also get certain kinds of oil to use as medicine. Pearls, sponge as well as some minerals are obtained from the sea. The sea is the best place for practicing sport and enjoying fresh and healthy air. On the other hand, when the sea gets furious, no one can predict how much destruction it could cause. The mountain-like waves have been smashing thousands of ships and buildings, killing millions of people. That powerful sea waves are called Tsunami.
