26 What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgementally to things as they are. This means paying attention to things are they really are in any given moment not what we want them to be.

27 Mindfulness 1. Discover how to live in the present--not worrying about the past or future. 2. Mindfulness is a translation of the Indian word, Sati, which means awareness, attention and remembering.

58 The attached photograph shows two almost identical dolphins leaping out of the water side-byside. It is a picture used in a study of stress levels at major hospitals. The study had subjects look at the picture and describe any differences they observed between the two dolphins. The closely monitored study revealed that a person under stress would find differences between the virtually identical dolphins pictured. Moreover, subjects experiencing a great amount of stress found many differences between the two dolphins. Now look at the following photograph. Do you observe notable differences between the two dolphins?
