2 What are comparatives? Comparatives are a form of and adverbs that compare two people or things. from a onesyllable When comparing two things, add er to and adverbs that have one syllable. Short shorter Fast Thin What are comparatives? Jon is tall. (Describing one person.) Jon is taller than Jacob. (Comparing two people.) from a onesyllable Jack is louder than Miles at dinnertime. Place the word more before and adverbs that have two or more syllables. To show the comparative of two-syllable ending in y, change the y to i and add er. To the Elmo!
