2 Acting Class The Theatre Project What it is: The Los Angeles Method Theatre Project is about using a theatre play to teach people how they can create the life they want and deserve, beyond confining convictions, fears and obstacles. The rehearsal process will be a workshop - using the Los Angeles Method - that will lead professionals, amateurs and people who never had a connection to the stage on a journey until the opening night. In the Los Angeles Method we believe that Art can be therapeutic. Acting is about getting in touch and unblocking your emotions. It is in the emotional part of our brain where imagination and creativity reside. It is the emotional side of us that we need to exercise if we want to create the life we want to lead and produce anything. As an actor creates his/her role, in this way anyone involved in this project will understand that they are 100% responsible of their reality, because they create it. Our Acting Class The Theatre Project at the Los Angeles Method is divided in three cycles. You can participate in each cycle individually or register for the entire program. If you do not participate in Cycle 1, you will have to audition for Cycle 2 and 3. 2 of 7

3 The Cycles: Cycle 1: Create the Role Acting Class Beginners Level In this 4 week cycle we work on the basics. We teach you The Los Angeles Method which is a combination of Acting and Personal Development and Behavioural Science Techniques. Then we will put the theory into practice by using Checkovian Scenes. You will learn how to create a Role. The information you will receive will be useful for you both on and off stage. You will be able to understand better yourself, what are your strengths and reprogram your weaknesses. An actor does not pretend, an actor presents the truth. To be truthful on stage you need to find your own truth in life. You will develop your creative skills, your social skills, your visibility and connection to yourself and others. You will find and unleash the power you have to be the creator of your reality, instead of just reacting to it. Cycle 2: Scene Work Acting Class Intermediate Level In this 6 week cycle we will work on Scenes from classical and modern plays. Everyone will work on a comedy scene and a drama scene. You will work on your body, your breathing and your voice. You will work on improvisation and Acting Exercises that will support and train your imagination and your choices. Through the work we will do in Cycle 2 you will understand that An ACTor - knows his or her truth, in order to be able to recreate real human behaviour on stage. 3 of 7

4 - understands emotions- the fuel we use to achieve our goals- and is able to use them for the role he or she is servicing. - has a strong sense of empathy. - is able to communicate with himself/herself, his fellow actors on stage- his team- and with his audience. - knows how to Listen and React in the moment. - knows how to Connect. - has Courage and Compassion. - is comfortable in being Vulnerable. - stands in the "Light" without fear. Cycle 3: The Theatre Project Acting Class Advanced Level In this 10 week cycle we will put up a professional theatrical production. The result of our work will be presented in a theatre in Amsterdam to an audience. In the Los Angeles Method we teach you the tools you need to create the character you want to play in Life. We deliberately use the verb "play". To be successful you need to have a happy childhood- it is never late to create a happy childhood. Be that child who wants to explore the world and nothing stops him from asking questions and looking for the answers. Look at the world for the first time, without fears and confining convictions. We believe that our lives are the movie we write, we direct and we star in. In the Los Angeles Method we believe that it is time for ACTion. We believe that we are 100% responsible of the reality we are experiencing. 4 of 7

I found the whole process so challenging and very rewarding at a personal level; it forced me and all others to get rid of all kind of emotional, physical barriers we all had in the beginning ; our vulnerability led to a very special bond among all of us based on trust, care, and love and mutual drive. I felt growing stronger in presence but becoming selfless at the same time. As it was my stage debut I didn't know how a theatre production was produced. During the rehearsals I discovered the technical aspects of theater as well as how much dedication and discipline it requires to put a play on stage. I can say that the overall experience helped me grow beyond my limits and I believe I will be better in my personal and professional relationships and express myself easier. 7 We spent time preparing, each rehearsal was extraordinary, often culminating in severe emotions from love to anger and back to love plus everything in between. Once we completed our 3 performances; something happened, snapped? inside me. A new dimension that has always been with me but never knew existed. A sense of power matrixed into my existing inner knowledge, like new space.
