(Naravno, devojka i ja obično subotom uveče idemo u bioskop.) 3 ISPITIVAČ: And you, how do you spend your weekend? (A kako vi provodite vikend?) ŽENA: I often stay home and watch TV. How do you spend your weekend? (Kako provodite vikend?) Možemo da pitamo i na drugačiji način. What do you do on the weekend? I usually take my kids to the park. Posle najčešće malo gledam TV.) Next is Philip. (Sledeći je Filip.) FILIP: What are my mornings like? Well, I always get up early. Well, I guess that s because I always go to bed early. I go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, shave, and take a shower. Then I have breakfast. Well, I skip breakfast sometimes if I m late for work. (Kako izgledaju moja jutra? Now listen to Nancy. Volim da radim vežbe ujutro. Hm, obično vežbam oko pola sata, ponekad i duže. Jeste li spremni? I always sleep late in the morning. (Ujutro uvek spavam do kasno.) I usually get up by 8 a.m. (Obično ustanem do 8.) I always get up early. (Uvek ustajem rano.) I mean, it s an incredibly huge apartment. Isn t this living room big? ŽENA: Yes, it is. Mmm, does this fireplace work? (Jeste. Da li je kamin ispravan?) AGENTICA: No, I m afraid not. It s fake. Terribly sorry. (Nažalost, nije. Lažan je. Strašno mi je žao.) ŽENA: That s OK. (U redu je.) AGENTICA: Look at these two big windows next to the fireplace. (Pogledajte ova dva velika prozora pored kamina). ŽENA: Uh-huh, very nice. (Baš je lepo.) Nešto u kuhinji se ne sviđa podstanarki. Šta? AGENTICA: Isn t the carpet a beautiful blue? (Zar nije ova plava boja tepiha prelepa?) ŽENA: Yes, it is a nice color. Can I see the kitchen? (Jeste, lepa je boja. Mogu li da pogledam kuhinju?) AGENTICA: Of course, right over here. It s a very spacious kitchen, don t you think? (Naravno, odmah ovde je. Kuhinja je veoma prostrana, zar ne?) The rent is $1,700 a month, right? AGENTICA: That s right. And there s a one-month security deposit. ŽENA: How long is the lease? (Na koliko je zakup?) AGENTICA: You can sign a one-, two-, or three-year lease. Well, thank you very much. Can I call you tomorrow and let you know what I decide? (U redu. Mnogo vam hvala. Da li mogu sutra da vas nazovem da vam javim šta sam odlučila?) AGENTICA: Of course. (Naravno.) Podstanarka je postavila nekoliko pitanja. Ponovite ih. Can I see the kitchen? Želite li razdvojene krevete ili bračni krevet?) ŽENA: A room with twin beds, please. (Sobu s razdvojenim krevetima, molim vas.) RECEPCIONER: For how many nights? (Koliko noćenja?) ŽENA: For three nights. (Tri noćenja.) RECEPCIONER: That s a double room with twin beds for three nights, right? ŽENA: That s right. How much is the room? (Tako je. Koliko košta soba?) RECEPCIONER: It s one hundred fifteen dollars per night. (Sto petnaest dolara noć.) ŽENA: Does that include breakfast? (Da li to obuhvata i doručak?) RECEPCIONER: No, I m sorry. Breakfast is extra. And may I have your name, please? I d like to reserve a room. Do you have any rooms available? Da li ima slobodnih soba možete i ovako da pitate: Do you have any vacancies? Ako imate sreće, bez problema ćete dobiti sobu kakvu želite. Samo treba da je zatražite. Ako želite sobu za jednu osobu, reći ćete: I d like a single room. Ako želite sobu za dve osobe: I d like a double room. Jeste li čuli kako je recepcionar pitao ženu na koliko dugo joj treba soba? Rekao je: For how many nights? A ona je odgovorila: For three nights.

25 43. strana, Activity Two (2. vežba) Saslušajte sada jednog muškarca kako uzima sobu u hotelu. Kakvu sobu želi i za koliko noćenja? MUŠKARAC: Good evening. (Dobro veče.) RECEPCIONER: Good evening, sir. How can I help you? (Dobro veče, gospodine. Izvolite.) MUŠKARAC: I d like a room for one night. Do you have any vacancies? (Želeo bih sobu na jednu noć. Imate li slobodnih?) RECEPCIONER: Yes. Would you like a single room or a double room? (Da. Želite li jednokrevetnu ili dvokrevetnu sobu?) MUŠKARAC: A single room, please. (Jednokrevetnu, molim vas.) RECEPCIONER: That s one single. For how many nights? (Jednokrevetnu. Koliko noćenja?) MUŠKARAC: For just one night. How much is the room? (Samo jedno noćenje. Koliko košta soba?) RECEPCIONER: It s one hundred twenty dollars a night. Plus tax, of course. (Sto dvadeset dolara po noćenju. Plus taksa, naravno.) MUŠKARAC: That s fine. I ll take it. (U redu. Uzeću je.)
