5 Host Preparation Here are a few tips to help you prepare yourself and your cast for the murder mystery. Read the Guide on How to Host a Host-Party Murder Mystery. This guide will give you all the specifics on preparing for and hosting your party. This guide should have been ed to you upon purchase. 6 Guest Instructions Playing one of our murder mysteries requires no special acting abilities, just a willingness to have fun. Our site gives you all the details you need to prepare for the party including character descriptions of all guests, internal information about your character (do not reveal this to others), and costume/prop recommendations. During the party, each of you will be given clues. The clues provide all the information required to unlock the mystery. Each clue is designated as a clue to be concealed or a clue to be revealed. Conceal clues are generally information about your character that you try to hide (without lying) from the others. Reveal clues are ones that you should share with others in casual conversation. During the party, guests will mingle around asking questions about each other's character and about clues you have received. As the game progresses, you will gather more and more information and at the end of the allotted time you will need to sift through fact and fiction to decide who is the murderer. The characters can be played to suit the comfort zone of each player. If you like the spotlight or enjoy role playing, immerse yourself in your character?s persona and live the night as you think they would. You may even decide to exaggerate your character?s personality for even more effect. On the other hand, if you prefer to participate in a less theatrical capacity, you may want to sit on the couch and let people come to you, approach each character off to the side or just listen in on other conversations until you get your feet wet and are feeling a bit more comfortable. There are only a few simple rules to follow when playing our games. 1. Stay in Character. (Costumes are highly recommended) 2. Hide/Stretch the truth, but don't lie! 3. Interrogate others. Each game takes approximately 1-1/2 to 3 hrs, depending on the number of people playing. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 3 of 10

7 Round 1 - Introduction Round Instructions Create a comfortable atmosphere of a TV Station studio by hanging pictures of TV stars on the walls, and decorating with soft lighting and cameras all around. Have some mellow music playing softly in the background. Hang the Over-The-Top Talent Show sign on your front door. As your guests arrive, give each a nametag and a chance to get acquainted. When all are accounted for and are sipping their drinks, Sharon or Howie should make the announcement about the death of Simon. (General Clue) You will need to have a knit hat with a school emblem on it, a hammer with red paint splashed on it to symbolize the blood, the note found in Simon s pocket, and a cell phone with a text saying, EMERGENCY AT STUDIO COME IMMEDIATELY! Be sure to warn the guests not to touch this evidence, as you will use the Fingerprint Analyzer to try to determine whose fingerprints might be found on these objects. After the announcement of the murder, as cocktails are being served, Round 1 envelopes should be handed out to each guest. This is an introductory round, where each guest gives a short description of themselves. You can also creatively display the clue-containing envelopes on a table for the guests to locate their own character names. General Clue (Share with all Guests) (To be read to the guests by Sharon or Howie) Good evening everyone! I have some very distressing news to relate to all of you. Very early this morning, Simon Pierce was found dead on the floor of the TV studio lying in a pool of his own blood. He was obviously hammered to death, as there was a bloody hammer left at his side and a knit hat thrown over his face. They also found this ominous note in his pocket. It says, Look past the sparkle to see Real Talent.before it s too late! There was also a text on his phone that stated: 'Emergency at Studio Come Immediately!' We believe that someone here tonight is responsible for murdering Simon, as we all had our own issues with him. Therefore, we thought it might be a good idea if we got together tonight to investigate and try to figure out who we think the murderer is before we summon the police. We'd like to minimize as much negative publicity as possible! Let s start by introducing ourselves, so everybody knows who we are and how we might fit into the picture. My name is Sharon Daglory and since my family has been in show business for a long time, I grew up surrounded by all kinds of talent. I have enjoyed working with Simon and Howie and judging the contestants on this show for several years now. It is true that Simon and I did not always agree on things, but I am shocked at the sudden tragedy of his death. Now, it s time to turn the floor over to Howie. We all seemed to have had our issues with Simon, but his untimely death certainly was a bombshell! As you all know, I am Howie Handalls and I am presently a judge on the Over-The Top Talent Show. I have had many different roles in the entertainment venue, on stage, in motion pictures and on TV. Obviously, I am very talented, versatile and easy to get along with! "- Round 1 Clue for Raven Introduction You follow Vinnie with this statement. Thanks Vinnie! Hey there, y all... around my stompin grounds, they call me Raven, the rhinestone cowgirl. Can you ever guess why? I started singing country music when I was a little girl, and everybody seemed to think I was talented and loved to listen to my songs. I got some good parts in all the school plays. As a matter of fact, all my parts are good, don t you think? That s about it for me. What about you, Carott? This clue should be revealed to others. Motive: Sharon and Simon have many disagreements both on and off the show, but his latest hit on her has definitely given her a motive to murder the man in cold blood. In an interview with Hearsay Magazine, Simon proclaimed that Sharon is a power-hungry, spoiled-rotten princess who attracts people by falsely praising them and then uses them and other devious means to get whatever she wants.
