1 FEBRUARY 19, 2010 ISSUE NUMBER ONE SAYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL - CLASS OF 65 45TH REUNION NEWSLETTER This handsome Group got it done then! 20th Reunion Class Picture - Circa 1985 Island Hills Country Club YOUR KEY CONTACTS FOR 2010 CHUCK DOLL: THE PREZ DOLLHAUS@COMCAST.NET BEA ROSE HAHN ISLAND QUEEN ELVA510@AOL.COM BJ DOCKWEILER: LEFT COAST BETTY BJ@BJDOCKWEILER.COM PAULA MCCOMBS LOUGHLIN: SNOOPY PLOUGHL@OPTONLINE.NET BILL TAYLOR THE WIZ TAYLOR1965@MAC.COM SUSAN COLLINS KEENAN ZUCCHINI SUSAN@KEENAN.NET Remember When? We ll Do it again in 2010! A Message from The Prez : The one thing that always stood out about our class was its spirit. Whether it was field day, a pep rally, or a "study night" at Hans & Katys. That spirit has shown itself again. The turn-out for this event is far more than what I had anticipated. Kudos to all of you. The reunion in '85 was great! If we can all stay up past 10:00pm then this one will be greater. Looking forward to seeing you all and be safe in your travels and remember to pack everything you need. Best Regards, Chuck CHUCK & TISH BJ AND FRANK BEA AND SON GREGORY PAULA AND PETE BILL & CATHERINE SUE AND WALT
2 The Date: August 13th, 2010 The Place: Snapper Inn, Oakdale, NY. Time: 7:00 PM 174 : 18 : 30 Days Hours Minutes Countdown to 2010 Reunion Chuck Doll: Hi all, this comes to you from Pittsburgh, PA. We have lived here since Am looking forward to the get together on 8/13/2010. I can't believe how quickly this seems to be coming together. I am semi-retired and looking forward to moving to the Carolinas. We have two daughters in the Charlotte area. Both are teachers. Emily got married in July of '08 in Antigua and Kathy will be getting married in June of I have spent most of my working career in the turf industry. By that I mean the golf and specialty Chemical business. Had to spend alot of time on golf courses but someone had to do it. Again, looking forward to August and I hope to see many of you there! Rose Fallon: So thrilled to see this happen - thanks BJ and Chuck! My children live in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Fl. and are doing spectacular, as am I! I am somewhat retired and loving it! 8/13/10 can't get here soon enough! Margie (Glanzman) Plowman: I am really looking forward to seeing you all this summer and have to say that it has been fun hearing how everyone is doing. Bob and I are still in the same house that we bought 42 years ago. It was a bungalow and needed tons of love. (Who knew anything about houses when we were young?) Well it's no longer a bungalow but still a work in continuous progress. We never moved because we raised two wonderful daughters here and they settled in the area when they married. I am happy to say that we now have 4 terrific grandchildren (2 from each family) and we are enjoying watching all of them grow... REMEMBER THEN? CONCERT BAND As far as my life is concerned, I went back to design school when my girls started school and I worked for about 15 years in decorating. After that, I worked part time as a buyer and manager for a store in town. When our 3rd grandchild came a long, I retired. Needless to say, our lives are full. That's a truly condensed version of my life since graduation, but I look forward to sharing more when we see one another. YIKS, IT S WILLY! (Send us your comments and thoughts about the upcoming Reunion) FLASHES PREPARING! VERY INTERESTING!

5 Class of 65 Bulletin Board A Message from Island Queen, You know, when BJ, Chuck and I started planning this reunion in September '09...we thought it would be great if we got up to 70 people coming. This is going to be some party! Over 115 as of today and growing every day! Thanks to Paula's and Sue s persistence in finding people! We were some great class... but did we realize it back then? The stories, the memories, the "antics". I've got to tell you. I haven't smiled so much or laughed so much in quite a long time. Everyone is so enthused about seeing all their classmates again! Thursday August 12, 2010: We will be meeting "somewhere" in Sayville for a casual drink w/our "new" old friends. We'll let you know where as we get closer to the weekend. Friday August 13, 2010: we'll have a great party at Snapper Inn in Oakdale. Very casual...no "wedding-sit-down" type affair. Great atmosphere, good food, lots of booze and fantastic music w/ time and room to move around and get to speak to and see everyone! Saturday August 14, 2010: I've arranged for discounted parking and ferry to Sailor's Haven, FI..., this is not an organized group. I'll be giving out the tickets and ferry schedule on Friday night...everyone can leave Sayville and come back to Sayville on their own time... But, if many decide they want to go then of course I'll arrange for a set time ferry to the beach and back to Sayville. More on that when we get closer to the date. I'm also getting lots of information on things going on on LI that weekend. Knowing many haven't been "home" in a while... We're going to leave Saturday and Sunday as a "do what you want" thing. I'm sure as we get closer to the weekend...you'll all be in touch with some people you were close to in school but you haven't seen in a while and may want to spend more time with them than others. I will also have the hotel, car rental, taxi, etc. information available for you. But if you have any questions or concerns...please call me at: (631) or at: ELVA510@AOL.COM Bill Taylor The Wiz on our newsletter, will publish more detail as things develop (like the price?) and as information comes to us... He will include in newsletter or send a Flash out to you... Chuck Doll, Tom Travis and Dick Uckmann are planing a round of Golf. I think there are close to 18 golfers signed up to date. If you want to play, please let us know. Please get the following information to me ASAP. A lot is being determined based on the count. More to come in March Newsletter, Bea Spouse/Significant Other Name: Address: Phone Contact: Attending: "Yes" "No" "Maybe" No. of PP. Attending: "1" "2" Golf game: "Yes" "No"
