1 Teacher: Señora Joslin Date: May 23, 2014 This Course The Course Organizer First Year Spanish Ten Essential Verbs: conocer, estar, gustar, hablar, hacer, ir, querer, saber, ser, tener. Is about Learning the ten essential verbs and core vocabulary to introduce yourself and others, to talk what you need and want to do, to discuss your likes and dislikes, to talk about school, to talk about what you do in your free time, to describe yourself and your friends and family and to talk about dates and the time of day. Course Questions: How do I show that I can.. 1. Conjugate regular ar, er, and ir verbs? 2. Conjugate, define and use the ten essential verbs? 3. Ask and answer questions on a variety of topics? 4. Introduce myself and others? 5. Talk about school? 6. Talk about places in a city? 7. Talk about transportation? 8. Describe myself, my friends and my family? 9. Talk about free time activities? 10. Talk about what I need and want to do? 11. Talk about dates, times, seasons, and events? Student: Course Dates: Performance Tasks Speaking Ask and answer questions and express feelings and opinions in conversation. Present information, concepts, and ideas to an audience of listeners on a variety of topics. Listening Interpret speech about self, others, and familiar surroundings. Identify the main idea and/or supporting details in spoken langauge. Reading Using cognates, interpret written language. Recognize written target vocabulary. Understand and identify main idea and supportive details in writing. Writing Follow grammar conventions. Write target concepts and vocab in complete sentences. Write in paragraph form simple stories and/or letters using target vocabulary and grammar. Culture Recognize the distinctive viewpoints that are only available through the world language and its cultures. Demonstrate understanding of the concept of culture through comparisons of the cultures studied and their own.
