5 Host Preparation Here are a few tips to help you prepare yourself and your cast for the corporate murder mystery. Read the Guide on How to Host a Host-Party Corporate Murder Mystery. 6 Guest Instructions Before The Party The pre-game clue helps to set the scene for the evening?s events. You can follow the costume suggestions when possible but feel free to improvise wherever you prefer. On The Night On arrival at the party you may be given a nametag or label (please be careful with delicate fabrics). The host will then make an announcement about what has just happened and the mystery will begin. You will be given your player clues and the events will unfold. On your first slip is some secret information, which you should not reveal unless directly challenged. Your slip will also tell you whether you are the murderer or not. If you are the murderer you may lie as much as you like. If you are not the murderer you must tell the truth. As the evening progresses you will be able to ask and answer questions, read clues and form your opinion as to the identity of the murderer. At the end of all the rounds the host will ask each player to make an accusation, giving reason, motive and method, of who they think is the murderer. After everybody has guessed, the host will then ask each player to read out their solution, contained in Round 7, in strict numerical order, starting with the lowest number first until the murderer is revealed. 7 Round 1 - Top magical TV personality Round Instructions Introduction (Part 1) TO BE READ BY ONE OF THE MALE GUESTS (AS OSCAR WINNER) Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the 51st Annual Academy of Magic Awards Ceremony for Witches and Wizards, known affectionately to everybody as The Merlins AS all of you know my name is Oscar Winner and I am the founder of WIZ TV and the creator of the Merlins. It has been my great honour to have presented all of the Awards Ceremonies since they started 50 years ago. Tonight s ceremony is being broadcast live on WIZ TV to the whole of the Magical World so I hope everything goes like clockwork. I will shortly be joined on stage by my lovely wife Enva Lope. This is now the tenth year that Enva has been my co presenter although she has been my wife for the last 125 years. Please everybody show your appreciation for the gorgeous Enva Lope. (APPLAUSE CHEERS AND WOLF WHISTLES) So without any more ado I would like to present the first award which is for Top Magical TV Personality. This award, which has been provided by our main sponsors WIZ TV, does not have any nominations but is based instead on votes by the TV executives here at WIZ TV. Let me just open the envelope. (PAUSE FOR A MOMENT) And the winner is Terminatus Aaaarghhhh (COLLAPSES AND FALLS TO THE FLOOR) Introduction (Part 2) TO BE READ BY ENVA LOPE Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it s me, Witch Enva Lope. I have terrible news. My beloved husband, Oscar Winner, has been murdered by a person or persons unknown. It appears that somebody placed a terrible spell on the card which was placed in the golden envelope which should have contained the name of the Top Magical TV Personality. My poor Oscar opened the envelope and read out the word which unleashed the full power of the spell which killed him instantly. Police wizards and witches are still trying to obtain full details of the spell which is proving difficult to identify at the moment. Our sponsors, WIZ TV, have asked me if I am brave enough to continue with the job of presenting tonight s awards. Although I am totally distraught about the death of my loving husband Oscar I have managed to pull myself together and feel that, as a true professional, I should carry on with the show. We will now have a short commercial break while I sit down for a few minutes and have a drink and something to eat. We had such a long and happy marriage that I do not know what I will do without him around. For the last ten years I have been co-presenter at the Merlins with Oscar and I have met many of the top witches and wizards. This clue should be revealed to others.
