2 Characters ANICETUS, ARISTIDES AND APOLLONIA (THE STATUES) HERCULES HADES STYX MEGARA CHIRON Synopsis An introduction This story is based on Greek mythology. The Greek had many Gods. Most of them lived in Mount Olympus. God Zeus was God of the sky and ruler of Olympus. Only Gods and Immortal Heroes were allowed to enter the Olympus. Our story A long time ago in Mount Olympus Zeus, the most powerful God of all, and his wife Hera had a baby, Hercules. Hades, the Lord of the underworld, was not happy, because he knew that this baby would be the only one who would prevent him from creating chaos among mortals, so he and his silly servant Styx, bullied him away from Mount Olympus Hercules grew up on earth always feeling different, lonely and excluded until one day Zeus revealed himself as his real father, warned him about Hades and ordered him to become a national hero to be able to return to Olympus Will Hercules be able to believe in himself so as to defeat Hades and become the hero he is meant to be? He might need self esteem and positive power! Moral Never let bullies (who are almost always motivated by jealousy and envy, by the way) put you down. With positive power and believing in yourself, you'll discover the real hero within you.

4 ACTIVITIES For teachers: This workpack is divided into different levels, taking into account learners age and level of language acquired. As you may notice, the same play may cater for an ample age range. This is due to an important innovation meant to suit different students needs and interests. This means that while different age groups may be viewing the same play the various pre and post language activities in the workpack attend to a different level. Teachers are thus able to provide students with details about the story and the characters before they come to the theatre, and also with follow-up activities.
