When it left, the chickadees returned and so did a gray bird with a white breast. That s junco, said Grandmother. The chickadees and the junco didn t seem to mind sharing the meal. Then another bird with a black cap landed on the feeder. It had a short tail and was a little bigger than a chickadee. Hannah looked it up in her book. It was nuthatch. It seemed to Hannah that all the birds were talking at once, just like at her house. They were enjoying the wonderful meal and good company. Look, Grandmother, she said. Even birds enjoy dinnertime!
