I believe it can because the sea is vast and it has many of life's essentials: our food, our energy, our minerals. In our fragmented world, the sea is the great unifier. It is man's only hope. Man has serious problems and the key word to solve those problems is unity. We are all part of the pyramid of life and we become more interdependent each day. I believe in universal cooperation. We are all in the same boat. That boat is the spaceship Earth, a blue jewel in the night of 20 space, beautiful and glorious with the fluid of life - the ocean 1. GOOD NEWS FOR GORILLAS Humans aren't the only primates that go in for postwar baby booms. In 1997 four endangered mountain gorillas died in the crossfire of central Africa's civil wars. Among the dead was the silverback male Luwawa, the dominant breeder for a group of twenty gorillas. Now officials at Virunga National Park in Congo (formerly Zaire) are reporting the births of ten babies in the past 18 months - at least half sired by Luwawa's successor, Kabirizi. Throughout the fighting, park managers have stayed on the ground to bolster the precious population of 600 gorillas.
