1 Adverbs of Manner Adverbs of manner tell us how someone does something or how something happens. They often come after the main verb: He drank quickly. [after the verb] He drank the water quickly. [after the object] He drank quickly the water. [NOT between the verb and object] Most s are formed by adding LY; to the form. bad beautiful weak badly beautifully weakly Most s ending -y change to -ily ; lucky-luckily lucky hungry shy luckily hungrily Adjectives ending -ble change to -bly ; responsible-responsibly terrible capable shy terribly capably Some s do not add LY : good straight wrong well straight wrong
