4 Ohitika Wonahun(Braves News) High School Miss South Dakota, Meridith Gould visits MIS She spoke to students on finances, college, Miss SD, Miss America and answered questions from students and staff. We really enjoyed hearing her experience with all she has done. The students really enjoyed her visit. Page 4

They took me out of the freezer and started to thaw me out to cook me. But when I found out I was going to get cooked, I knew I was on a mission. When the kids were doing there homework. While the mom and dad were stuffing me. Then they put me in the oven I had to orbit in the oven because it was so hot. When it got to hot it felt like explosive. When I got out they launches me like I was in a space shuttle. When I got on the table I ran like crazy. They all tried to catch me but I was just too quick. They seemed so dramatic that they couldn t catch me. When they ate me it was so scientific because when I was going to turkey haven I seen a satellite. The end of the turkey s life. But still alive only in haven. One day when I was bathing in a massive cold pond. A hunter saw me and thought I would be a dramatic Thanksgiving dinner. The amazingly tall and athletic hunter man took me and put me in the back of his Ford truck.we drove for hours through thick massive mud. The hunter man carried me through the front door of his red, historic house. Then said hey kids look what I brought home for Thanks Giving dinner tonight. They called me Fill the chicken I thought it was a nice name. Then the hunter put me in the oven. I started to get hot then I heard an intensive voice say it smells good. After I heard that my head started to orbit. Then I heard a beep then the man took me out. Then started cutting pieces off me and ate me but before they ate me I felt an explosive feeling in my stomach. Then I heard a door open and a girl said did you get a turkey because I can sure smell it. She said it smells like a homemade Thanksgiving dinner. Where did you get that one at? Did you get it at a store or did you hunt it. The hunting man said I hunted it down but it was pretty fast. I barely caught up to it in the Ford truck. Good thing I had my bow and arrow with me because if I didn t have my bow and arrow it would have got away and we wouldn t have a nice Thanksgiving dinner tonight. It was pretty fun chasing it because it was fast and tricky. I m glad you got it though because it tasted pretty good. Actually I think this is probably the best turkey I have ever had in my life thank you for getting it. The hunter man said Jesinia Neiss The Turkey Meal I was living in the freezer at Buche foods, frozen as hard as a rock. I kept watching the patrons glancing over me and picking other Thanksgiving turkeys. I was wishing for someone to pick me for their fancy meal. Then my day of glory arrived! She was a young woman with long dirty blonde hair with golden highlights. She picked me up and threw in the trunk. She must have been a race car driver because I rolled and bumped all over. When we got to the house she put me in the sink and gave me a bath and lotion me up with butter. Then the next part I didn t really like she took a hole hand full stuffing and put it right up my rear end. I was then placed in the oven. It felt like I was a baby snuggled up in a warm blanket. She opened the oven and it was times up for me! They cut me up to little pieces and put THANKSGIVING DINNER By Benicio JHope Zephier Kameron.bruguier THANKS GIVING On a happy thanks giving one person in the store was in the TURKEY freezer and siad there is no good turkey s in this place and then he saw me and siad now here is a good turkey his son siad da da that was his first ward his wife was happy because they got to find me. his wife got to put me in the pan and put a something in the middel of my body I thought it woud hert but it felt like a bolloon hit me. Then she put me in the oven. It wsa nice and warm like I was in hawaii getting a tan on the beach. I allmost fell a sleep then I haerd a bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and that was the clue that a was done.she opens the oven and saw my goldin brown flesh then they caved my body in to scraps. The only reason Im writing this is because all turkeys go to heaven and I am an angel.being an angel is fun because ohh I like to remember when I was alive it was fun but not all the time even when I was I AM going to be THANKSGIVING dinner. I am sitting at the bottom of Buche s freezer. My name is Bee Bee the Turkey. I would love to be the best Thanksgiving turkey in the world! I want to be the most intensive tasting meat on the table. The family that chose me has five sons they are orbiting around me like I am the earth and they are the moon. There is a lot of drama in the store and I am about to be history to my friends. I am on a mission to be the best turkey that anybody ate in the world. I am a little offensive because the owners son launched me to her other son and caused some majestic bruising on my wings. I feel there were more turkeys piled on me and when they picked me out I was so happy. When I was purchased they also bought salad, broccoli, carrots, ranch dressing, celery and more things for the Thanksgiving feast. And in the end there was only a few things left of me like a wish bone, plus other food then they gave the rest to the dog. My dream came true.

7 O h i t i k a W o n a h u n ( B r a v e s N e w s ) Elementary School Page 7 The Best Thanksgiving Ever By Reina Hare I m the biggest turkey ever! I was excited for Thanksgiving this year. Who was going to take me home? Wal-Mart was a busy place, just then two little girls put me in their cart and there mom put me in the car. I was squished; the two little girls put me in the backseat and forgot all about me. We were in the tiny blue station wagon. After awhile, one of little girls grabbed me and put me in the refrigerator. I sat in the refrigerator until they were ready for me. They decided it was time to go into the oven. The whole family was preparing for the feast. The mom was making the stuffing. The two daughters were making the appetizer tray. They cut up the pickles, opened up the cans of olives. They cut up the celery and carrots. The dad s job was to make all the pies. He could not decide on what to make. He made a cherry pie, apple pie and a pumpkin pie.i was so perfectly done they took me out of the oven. Mom fixed all the plates and dad carved the turkey. We sat down to say Grace. It was the best Thanksgiving ever The Thanksgiving Turkey By: Danica Heth I ve been waiting for someone to purchase me at Super Foods, but no one came. Until one day I heard footsteps, I thought these people would pick me out of all these frozen birds. It was a female that had 4 children with her that picked me and paid for me. I was very excited to be out of the store. I was looking forward to my new adventure. When my owner got us out to her silver minivan she drove us home. I was smashed under everything. Then I couldn t see anything. I thought I would be able to see, while I was waiting at the store for someone to buy me. The freezer was too packed with birds. Then when we got home she named me, Delicious Turkey. Then she put me in the freezer until tomorrow. When tomorrow came she got me out and thawed me out. She then wrapped me in tinfoil to put me in the oven. When I was halfway done she stuffed me with green beans, corn, carrots, peas, and bread stuffing. Then she put back in the oven until I was done. She got me out then the Thanksgiving dinner was complete. Best Thanksgiving Turkey By: Zayden Arpan The hunters hunted me down. They put me in a scary huge truck with a big mean dog in the back. After a while they sold me to Wal-Mart. Then I was in Wal-Mart stuck under all other turkeys. My name is Ron. I am a massive 20 pound majestic bird. I could hear the sounds of Hip Hop music blarring. I felt like I could not breath.the rest of them were just 10 pound birds I was the most massive bird out of all of them. I was awakened by the sounds of a 9 year old kid telling his mom to buy me and my brother, Franklin. I believe I was chosen because was the massive one. The loud 9 year old's mother paid for both me and my brother, Franklin. Then the kid threw me and my brother in the back of a shiny, blue, Ford pickup truck. In blue ford truck, we drove by a big, dark, black massive ford truck. It had a dog cage with a big adult, tall huge, drooling dog. I was imaginating all the time. I thought that I was alive. I would always make stuff using sticks to play. They took me home and defrosted me in the sink. Before they put me in the oven they put butter on me and stuffed me. I was stuffed with carrots, green beans, tomatoes and bread stuffing. They used a knife that was huge and shiny. Then they put me in the oven. I thought the oven was going to explode because it was really burning hot. They kept on checking on me, every ten minutes. It was important to make sure I was going to be nice and tender for the historical dinner. Then they put me on a fancy plate and decorated with stuffing around it. They had the best Thanksgiving turkey. This year was a great Thanksgiving. THE END

But 2 hours later, nobody came to get me. One day I, finally, got purchased. A young girl walk towards me and said to her mom, This one looks good to eat for Thanksgiving. So they put me in a bag and off I went. They carried me off and put me in their car. I was sitting there with nothing to do. I was listening to the little girl as she talked to her mom about the Thanksgiving Turkey. She continued to talk until we stopped at the Six Mile Road and then we turned. We had finally made it home. It was a fine house that was painted blue. The kids could play on the large wrap-around deck. The family could park their car in a two-car garage. The mom grabbed a hold of me a carried me into the warm house. I could feel myself thawing out. There was music playing, the song was Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynard. These are the lyrics: "Simple Man" Mama told me when I was young Come sit beside me, my only son And listen closely to what I say. And if you do this It will help you some sunny day. Take your time... Don't live too fast, Troubles will come and they will pass. Go find a woman and you'll find love, And don't forget son, There is someone up above. Ten my dad started to listen and made it his favorite song. Now Simple Man is my favorite song, I was able to see all the food on the counter. And the mom said stuff the turkey and make sure you put it in the oven. The older sister said what should I put it on? The mom said 400 degrees for now. Eventually the placed me in the oven, and shared my bounty on Thanksgiving Day.

9 O h i t i k a W o n a h u n Page 9 Elementary School I m the Thanksgiving Turkey! By: Keya Rouse I m sitting in the store the most massive turkey sitting there, and a girl is walking towards me. I can t wait until she buy s me! Then she throws me in the cart dramatically. It hurt but, I was still happy someone was buying me. The family was waiting in the car waiting for their mother to come back with an intensive turkey. She took me home in a baby blue Chevrolet Trailblazer. On the way to the families house there was an imaginative park. One of the kids said turn on the radio. The song that came on was 2 On. We re home, the oldest kid said. Everybody ran inside except the father, he hauled in all of the groceries, and of course me, the happiest turkey in the world! On the way into their, historic blue, house was an explosive dog. When I got inside they took me out of the bag. They filled up the sink with warm water. There I went into the warm water. For all day it was boring. Earlier that day they finally took me out of that sink. Being the sink felt comfortable. I wanted to be in there forever. The whole family came over to the table and put spices on me. I went into the oven. The End! The Thanksgiving Meal By: Ahmarie Cooke I am a turkey that was picked for a thanksgiving meal! My name is Cleo. I was picked at the food market. Once I was picked I felt important. There was an abundance of turkeys. I was the special one that they wanted for dinner. I was very massive and heavy. The meal will be very intense. It was a very dramatic experience in the store I wanted to leave the store right away. A very pleasant small family chose me. They had to get more food for the thanksgiving dinner. I was being very imaginative about what they were going to do with me. I was thinking about what else they were going to cook for the meal. I was very excited to be cooked and covered with s massive amount of toppings. Then they finally were done shopping. They picked vegetable flavored stuffing. They selected vegetables and many other kind of other kinds of food. It was so intensive, the waiting. I was finally purchased. There were many of other people shopping for thanksgiving meals. I was so excited to see the people gathering for a thanksgiving celebration. The car was blue and seemed brand new. They placed me in the back seat. Two adults sat in the front and 1 kid in the back. Once we got back to the house the people placed me in the freezer. I was very happy with the idea of being cooked as the thanksgiving meal. They didn t cook me right away because there were so many other foods to be cooked. I was the last one to be cooked. They waited because there was a great deal of time left. Then I finally got to be cooked. I was cooked in the oven. Once I was done I was covered with different kinds of ingredients. I was placed on the kitchen table. The table was large and brown. I was sitting next to a pumpkin pie and some stuffing. I couldn t wait to be put on someone s plate. I felt full of joy. All the kids were playing outside on the green grass. The family came inside and said a prayer before they ate. Then the family sat down and everyone had a plate. There were 3 kids and 2 adult. There were 2 girls and 1 boy, 1 women and 1 man. The mom cooked the food well while the dad watched the kids. They placed all the other foods on their plate first, and then I was last. But finally they ate me. Then everybody was full, and had a happy thanksgiving meal. Thanksgiving Day By: Kameron Bruguier On a happy Thanksgiving, one person in the store was looking in the turkey freezer. He thought to himself, there are no good turkeys in this place. Then he saw me and thought I was a good turkey. His son said his first word when he saw me, turkey. The man s wife was happy because they found me. I finally found a place to belong. The man s wife put me in the pan, and put something in the middle of my body. I thought it would hurt, but it felt like a balloon hit me. Then she put me in the oven. It was nice and warm like I was in Hawaii getting a tan on the beach. I almost fell asleep then I heard a bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sound and that was the clue that I was done. She opened the oven and saw my golden brown flesh. They carved my body in to strips. The only reason I m writing this is because I am an angel. I bet you didn t know that all turkeys go to heaven!!!
