2 COMPANY MAINSTAGE THE HANDMAID S TALE OCTOBER 10-14, 2018 Acclaimed choreographer Lila York preserves author Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale s prophetic spirit and human story, creating a powerful and poignant interpretation of this gripping tale. York s dance drama transports audiences, with thrilling effect, to an oppressive, dystopian world. ROMEO & JULIET FEBRUARY 13-17, 20 Shakespeare s timeless tragedy is given a beautiful and thought-provoking telling in this masterpiece of dance and drama. The splendour of sixteenth-century Verona is recreated in this full-length ballet that demands the most of a dancer s personal capacity to create a role. The RWB has a loyal and growing audience of subscribers and single ticket buyers. The audience is approximately 60% female, with post-secondary education and a household income of $100,000+. In addition to our core demographic, the ballet is increasingly attracting the demographic through a targeted program called Access Pointe. This Winnipeg tradition attracts nearly 12,000 patrons each year who range from small children attending with their parents and grandparents, to adults who have made this production part of their annual holiday festivities. Before the final curtain falls, Clara will battle the evil Mouse King, fall in love with her dashing Nutcracker prince and find herself on a storybook journey that will take her into the heart of a timeless fairytale. Landreth and up-and-coming choreographer Philippe Larouche. This fresh addition to the RWB season also showcases work from Mark Godden and emerging choreographer Jera Wolfe for a diverse evening of performances. These productions are part of our six ballet subscription package. Ballet & the Band will take place at Pantages Playhouse Theatre. Spotlight is at Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre s John Hirsch Mainstage and On the Edge will be held at RWB s very own Founders Studio. These are more intimate venues with fewer performance dates, which is reflected in ad pricing. Contracts cancelled for whatever reason prior to completion will be pro-rated to the one time insertion rate for previous insertions and invoiced to the advertiser. 2. The publisher reserves the right to refuse any advertisement which is felt to be not in keeping with the standards of the publication. 3. The advertiser assumes liability for the content of the advertisement. A proof may be requested of the advertisement prior to publication. If the proof is not returned by the date marked on the sheet, the publisher will assume the advertisement is satisfactory for publishing. 4. All payments are due within thirty (30) days of invoice.
