With the 2005 inception of AOS Radio, there has been no stopping this entertainment company. They have set the bar for showcases in the Tri-State area, continually changing with the times. The February Streets Have a Voice Showcase, which marks the one year anniversary, plans to be a showcase to be reckoned with. To celebrate their one year of success, they are pulling all the stops and having the most popular dj in the game, DJ Kid Capri host their huge event. The Streets Have a Voice Showcase s new venue, T-NY, is proving to be the facelift that this showcase needed. On top of drawing in big named hosts such as this month s Kid Capri and January s Marley Marl, they have also added a media room, where they conduct radio, magazine, and video interviews with the performers. In addition, they hold model photo shoots during the show, and have added an official after party with music by DJ Kool Kid and DJ Uneek. This monthly showcase series is where unsigned artists that are ready to be in the forefront come to display their craft. When asked what artists get out of performing at AOS events, the CEO, Adante Ace said,...artists have an opportunity to come out and promote themselves, while building a fan base that can see them perform live on world renowned stages. Unsigned artists that perform in The Streets Have a Voice Showcase series have the guarantee that there will be many eyes on them. In addition, AOS events create an opportunity for unsigned artists to make money; something rarely heard of in the showcase circuit. With the combination of AOS Radio, the internet, and the streets, the showcases become one big media outlet. There are only a handful of entertainment companies that can combine three medians successfully on such a large scale, and successful they have been, gaining popularity outside of the tri-state area and drawing large numbers to their events. The Streets Have a Voice Showcase series is a networking haven, which is essential for upcoming artists, because it brings in big names from the music industry. AOS has the most sought after djs and personalities hosting their events, pulling in the likes of Hot 97's Drama King DJ Kay Slay, Raekwon from Wu-Tang Clan, the legendary Ed Lover, Sheek Louch from The Lox, DJ Green Lantern, and Mad Linx from BET to name a few. With Ace s huge success with Speed s Open Mic, which people are still begging him to start back up; it was inevitable the Showcase Series would create a sensation. The Showcase Series is the next level from the infamous Open Mic, it offers artists a chance to make money and show the industry their worth and if they re ready for the big time. With the inception of AOS Radio and its online presence at where the show is also streamed, AOS events are gaining unprecedented attention. Artists from around the country are trying to sign up for the showcases, hoping to get there chance to shine. The line for the showcase looks more like a line for a concert or night club than an unsigned showcase. The event is bringing hundreds upon hundreds of fans, artists, and media.
