2 SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT TOURISM Program of Work 2018/2019 OCTOBER TEAMS CONFERENCE, LOUISVILLE, KY: TEAMS: TRAVEL, EVENTS AND MANAGEMENT IN SPORTS, is the world s leading conference and expo for the sports event industry. Presented by SportsTravel magazine and launched in 1998, TEAMS attracts more than one thousand attendees including CEOs, executive directors and event managers from sports organizations as well as representatives from sports commissions and destination management organizations, corporate sponsors, event suppliers and other hospitality industry opinion leaders. 21 Nov 3 ITF YOUNG SENIORS WORLD TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS, MIAMI BEACH, FL: The ITF Young Seniors World Individual Championships is the highest ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of The tournament offers singles, doubles and mixed doubles as well as a consolation draw for singles first round losers. The event will take place on Miami Beach at the Miami Beach Tennis Center and the Flamingo Park Tennis Center. 25 NY FILM CONFERENCE, NY, NEW YORK, NY: The New York Film Conference presents an opportunity for film and media professionals in a variety of roles across organizations, including freelancers, to come together and share insight around industry and production trends in film and media. Speakers and participants represent a wide range of roles across the entire spectrum of film production, marketing and distribution, among other roles. (In conjunction with our film office partners) NASCAR FORD CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND, HOMESTEAD, FL: Ford Championship Weekend is the name given to the final race weekend of the NASCAR season, where all three of its major series run their last events of the year and officially crown their series champions. The race weekend takes place at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, FL.

3 DECEMBER HOOPHALL MIAMI INVITATIONAL, MIAMI, FL: The Hoophall Miami Invitational is a premiere college basketball event that takes place annually at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, FL. In addition to the basketball games, the Hall of Fame and AmericanAirlines Arena partner to bring the event to the community with local high school games at the arena and a youth skills clinic ran by one of the participating teams at the Overtown Youth Center. There will be four games played in 2018: St. Johns University vs. Georgia Tech; University of Miami vs. Yale University; North Carolina State University vs. Vanderbilt University; Texas Tech University vs. University of Memphis. 4 5 FOCUS LONDON, LONDON, ENGLAND: FOCUS is aimed at all creative screen industries, including film, TV, advertising, animation and interactive and is the only UK trade event where attendees can meet with content makers, film commissions, production services and locations providers from over 60 countries. (In conjunction with film office partners) 29 CAPITAL ONE ORANGE BOWL COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF NATIONAL SEMI FINAL GAME, MIAMI GARDENS, FL: The Orange Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. It has been played annually since January 1, 1935, making it, along with the Sugar Bowl and the Sun Bowl, the second oldest bowl game in the country, behind the Rose Bowl (first played 1902, played annually since 1916). In 2018, the Orange Bowl will be the site for the College Football Playoff National Semi final game and host either the 1 seed vs. 4 seed game or the 2 seed vs. 3 seed game. JANUARY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TELEVISION PROGRAMMING EXECUTIVES (NATPE), MIAMI BEACH, FL: The 55th Anniversary of the National Association of Television Programming Executives Conference & Exhibition will be held in Miami, January 22 24, NATPE is the only American program serving the worldwide television community. This three day market and conference is recognized throughout the world as a key media event. The GMCVB will host a net working event for key NATPE executives and conference participants. (In conjunction with film office partners) SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, PARK CITY, UT: The GMCVB will partner with Beyond Cinema during Sundance 2019 with a week long media studio which offers the opportunity for our local film office partners to meet with film industry professionals and educate them on the local film incentives. The GMCVB and the Miami Dade Film office will present industry panels followed by invitation only networking receptions. The Miami Film Incentive postcards will be distributed to attendees. (In conjunction with film office partners) FITBIT MIAMI MARATHON & HALF MARATHON WEEKEND, MIAMI, FL: The Fitbit Miami Marathon & Half Marathon takes you through the streets of Miami starting in the downtown area, to the scenic beaches, through the art district and back around to our lovely bay area. Marathon weekend kicks off at the Expo on Friday and Saturday, January 25 and 26, the Tropical 5K on the 26 th, and the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, January 27.

4 27 Feb 3 SAILING WORLD CUP SERIES MIAMI, COCONUT GROVE, FL: US Sailing s premier event the 30th running of Sailing World Cup Miami will return for top level Olympic and Paralympic class racing. As the only North American regatta to be included in World Sailing s World Cup Series, the regatta is a mainstay on the winter circuit for sailors campaigning for the next Olympic and Paralympic Games. Regatta Headquarters will be located at the City of Miami s Regatta Park, in Coconut Grove, Miami, FL REALSCREEN SUMMIT, NEW ORLEANS, LA: The RealScreen Summit is the world s foremost conference and market for the non fiction and unscripted content industry, and the place to get deals done. The event has experienced significant growth over the last few years and will attract in the order of 2,500 buyers, creators, and distributors of factual content from all corners of the globe. Well over 200 global commissioning editors running the gamut of non fiction content will be in attendance and delegates are afforded unique opportunities to pitch their program ideas, industry services and negotiate co productions. (In conjunction with film office partners) FEBRUARY TORONTO GOLF & TRAVEL SHOW, TORONTO, ONTARIO, CN: The Toronto Golf & Travel Show is Canada s largest golf show of the year. The GMCVB has a presence at the show to promote Greater Miami as a premier destination for golf tourism. 25 March 17 HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO, HOUSTON, TX: The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports youth, and provides year round educational support within the community. The show is used to promote the Miami International Agriculture, Horse & Cattle Show to international and domestic cattle breeders to visit Miami and exhibit their livestock. MARCH MIAMI OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT, MIAMI GARDENS, FL: The Miami Open Tennis Tournament will have a new home starting in 2019 as plans were unveiled to relocate to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. The partnership between IMG and Hard Rock Stadium will bring an unparalleled fan experience, improved player amenities, ample parking, as well as an extended fan base to the Miami Open a cornerstone of IMG s events portfolio. The Miami Open s last event at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, where it enjoyed a successful 32 year run, took place in March 2018.

5 APRIL MIAMI SPORTS & WELLNESS MONTH: Miami Sports & Wellness Month returns April, This April, sports, recreation and wellness take center stage in Greater Miami and the Beaches during Miami Sports & Wellness Month! Don t let its beauty fool you, the South Beach Triathlon promises a challenge for athletes of all levels. 24 May 5 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL, NEW YORK, NY: The Tribeca Film Festival program lineup offers moviegoers a wide variety of independent films and also features panel discussions with personalities in the entertainment world offering excellent networking opportunities to promote our destination as the ideal location for filming independent films.
