Spring Break Art Camps Now On Sale! It rarely takes more than a few days before Spring Break boredom sinks in after all, what s a kid supposed to do with all that free time? Those two long weeks can stretch out and out and out! Luckily the Chilliwack Cultural Centre has a solution Spring Break Art Camps for Kids! Kids aged 5 12 (and select classes for 12 years and older) will have the chance to explore a variety of Arts and Crafts from acting to pottery to mask making. 2 In a magical story that has captured hearts for generations, Sleeping Beauty will be brought to stage by Canada s Ballet Jörgen in a production flowing with enchanting elegance and captivating romance. The tale of beautiful princess tragically cursed by an evil witch and destined to an eternal slumber is one well-loved across the world, and with Ballet Jörgen s history of bringing the classics to life through their impeccable ballet renditions, this presentation is guaranteed to provide a unique retelling of a legend that has touched many. 7 A Piano Extravaganza May 21, 2016 A Journey of Healing May 28, 2016 Wizard of Oz July 28 August 7, 2016 Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents Nature Re-Imagined: Form and Place Maggie Manning, Paul McCarl and Mary-Lee Merz re-imagine the natural world through sculpture, painting and printmaking. For Maggie Manning, painting provides a vehicle to explore the movement, composition, balance and light in the living landscape; with each new investigation another secret is revealed. Perhaps, through the act of painting, it is the artist who is re-imagined by receiving these gifts. Paul McCarl s creative inspiration is directly related to his experience of the outdoors. Exploring the environment he finds boulders that excite his imagination. The inner heart of the stone is re-imagined as Paul carves and sculpts the stone to reveal images of the West Coadt Wildlife. The observation of movement and patterns in nature informs the watercolours and print making of Mary-Lee Merz. Using this information she explores possibilities, which result in natural forms being reimagined.
