Play with Shakespeare s words as we do in our rehearsals adult, 2.50 child SHAKESPEARE UPPER CIRCLE BAR, ROYAL SHAKESPEARE THEATRE Monday 21 August: Romeo and Juliet Tuesday 29 August: Hamlet 11am am Introduce your child to Shakespeare and his stories through simple rehearsal techniques adult, 2.50 child DISCOVER For ages 8 12 years and their parents/carers Discover how our actors and creative teams work in the rehearsal room to make theatre, whilst learning together. ONE DAY ANIMATION WORKSHOP Wednesday 9 August and 16 August, 10am 4.30pm Create your own digital flicker book filled with costume drawings for your favourite Roman Shakespeare character, inspired by our costume store and archive photos. Create your own stop frame animation of ghosts and spirits, inspired by current production of Julius Caesar. ADVENTURE BAGS AND TRAILS Explore Shakespeare and the theatre in Stratford with an Adventure Bag or Building Trail. Adventure Bags are available from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Cloakroom, trails are available in leaflet racks. 7 SUNDAY 6 AUGUST SHED OF STORIES Hear Roman stories, told at intervals throughout the day. Between story times the shed becomes a pop-up library where families can read together. SUNDAY 20 AND 27 AUGUST MAKE A MOSAIC FROM LEGO BRICKS Help make a mosaic of Shakespeare s face, using special LEGO bricks. Complete a mosaic panel which is then added to whole design, and watch the giant artwork emerge. Led by Bright Bricks. MOSAIC-FLOOR-ART I THINK I CAN A Terrapin Puppet Theatre Production created by Sam Routledge and Martyn Coutts Tuesday 25 Saturday 29 July Monday 31 July Saturday 5 August 11am 2pm, 3pm 6pm Who would you like to be today? Become a member of a tiny community, in a miniature Roman town. A playful Career Test will personality-match you with a puppet, who is your alter-ego through daily life as a Roman citizen. Make decisions for your character and see the puppetry displayed on surrounding screens.
