Karen is a full time professional photographer who takes amazing pictures of birds and other wildlife. Her website is Coffee Klatch- Update from Harry Bad news folks. The Catalina Coffee Company, where we have been having our monthly coffee klatch for the last 8 years, has closed its doors permanently. The reason given was that the building needed so much renovation that it was financially unfeasible. There are plans to possibly open at some other location but no decisions have been made. So we need another venue in which to meet. Those who came to the last coffee klatch, when we found out about the closure, went down the street to Roman Aroma on the corner of Catalina and Gertruda. The address is 901 N. Catalina Ave., Redondo Beach. There is a parking lot in the back. I didn t feel it was as comfortable as Catalina Coffee, but the pastries were excellent. Until we find a permanent place to meet, perhaps we can do a round robin and try a different place each month. It needs to be: 1 as central as possible to the wide diversity of where people in the club live, 2 has a

3 parking lot, 3 is big enough to accommodate us, 4 has good coffee and pastries and 5 is willing to put up with us every month. More from Harry who has organized a trip Hsi Lai Temple trip ruary 13 I have scheduled a photo trip to the Hsi Lai temple in Hacienda Heights for Tuesday,. 13. Hsi Lai, which means coming west, is one of the largest Buddhist temples in the western hemisphere. It is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. We will meet there at 10, shoot for about 1 ½-2 hours and then have lunch in the temple s lunchroom. 4 HIN is a unique nationwide automotive festival taking place on San Pedro s downtown streets. The HIN experience will feature a world recognized car competition showcasing hundreds of customized rides with several full lighting displays and vehicles, Top Car Crews and Teams, Pioneer DJ Main Stage w/ Headliner DJ Talent, Featured Industry Models in the Model Lounge, Lion Dance Performance for Lunar New Year, Auto Aftermarket Exhibitors, Merchandise Stands, Entertainment Zones, Restaurants, Food Truck Alley, plus tons of festival attractions. This will be the biggest annual car show attraction in Southern California. Tickets are free, capacity. For more info Our ruary speaker is Troy Conrad is an LA-based photographer devoted to creativity and innovation. He has shot thousands of live events, portraits, and promotional campaigns in eight countries. He has worked as a photographer for Comedy Central, Netflix, NBC, Audible,various magazines and comedy/music festivals throughout the U.S.. His #Hallseries portait exhibit of comedians is on permanent display in the main lobby of The Comedy Store in Hollywood. The Photographic Society of America (PSA) has a roundup event on ch 10. 5 k Lidikay has organized a Cosplay shoot 24 at Torrance park (which is a park in Torrance, 2001 Santa Fe Ave). We will have a variety of people with costumes. It will be outdoor natural light, possibly fill light. This will be TFP for the models, so be prepared to give them some images.
